Has anyone else been thinking Wojo has been doing this great job of recruiting just to play mind games with the players already at MU?

All of us?

Awesome!!!
Hopefully he pans out, would hate to see the 180 that happens if he isnt as good as advertised. Not saying that will be the case but just putting it out there. Its happened before...  :-\

Yes, but people who think that are currently banned.

If by mind games, you mean sending the message that if you want to play you had better do the work in practice, in the weight room, in the gym, 24-7, in season and out of season, because if you don't I can go out and land another player at least as good....Lord, I hope so.

Nope just needs more bodies to push under the bus

I like the sound of that...especially the "physically tough and a relentless competitor" part.

True, but Derrick never drew comparisons to anyone like Staten.

Love that this kid has a high arc on his shot.  If he can make those shots fall at a decent clip, I'll be exponentially less concerned about his size.

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

I've been critical of wojo's in game coaching and player development at times. however he has shown to be an excellent recruiter. will be exciting to watch traci at pg next year although I do hope we can pick up a veteran grad transfer who can log some minutes at that position as well.

muwarrior69

I am thrilled with the news, but I hope he has recovered from his injury. Though Steve has had some moments this season he has not looked like the player he was before his injury. So, just a cautionary note on expectations for Traci next season. Hope it all works out.

Welcome to MU Mr. Carter!

Can't believe we're living in the land of F 452/1984/Animal Farm/Brave New World/Handmaid's Tale. When travel to Mars begins, expect Starship Troopers

Agreed.  He seems to get it off fairly quickly, as well.
All this talk of rights.  So little talk of responsibilities.

Is it me or does he seem to pause for a split second at the top of his jump on nearly every shot.  Not necessarily a critique (since I don't have a leg to stand on that way), just an observation.

...with the addition of skilled shooter, creative passer, and the mindset of relentlessly attacking/probing the defense. These are essential PG attributes that have been lacking.

Really glad this guy committed!

Aiming is important.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Earl Tatum

Does anyone know if there is still someone out there MU could use? Like a backup PG or Power forward. Grad or JC or HS

Something the staff may have forgotten to tell this year's players ;)

JUCO and HS probably scraped clean.  Grad transfer and regular transfer markets still to be determined.

John Wall talking up Marquette?
Can't say I saw that one coming.

John Wall and DJO are very close, grew up in the same town and played youth ball together.  Wall would come to MU games when DJO was here to see and support his good friend.  So MU means something more to Wall than "just another big east school."

So let's also give an assist on this to DJO.
