We had a thread, now let's have a poll

All had special place in my heart and my life. Spent way too much time in bars during my eight year under grad time at MU. I guess maybe that is why it took eight years. Was a great run!

Really hard question.  I mean .. each bar had it's character.  The Ardmore was great for Import Night .. and you never went to the 'Lanch before midnight..  etc.

I think it's hilarious that the Lighthouse made it into your poll before OD's, OP's, State House or Good Times.  We were a house, rather than a bar.  We made it on the list of the top ten drinking establishments and favorite buildings on campus in the 1984 yearbook.  Many of us were from the Chicago area so we learned early on how to stuff a ballot box.  In any event, I voted Lighthouse.
HILLTOP SENIOR SURVEY from 1984 Yearbook:
Favorite Drinking Establishment:

1. The Avalanche.              7. Major Goolsby's.
2. The Gym.                      8. Park Avenue.
3. The Ardmore.                 9. Mugrack.
4. O'Donohues.                 10. Lighthouse.
5. O'Pagets.
6. Hagerty's.

Very tough call.  I went with the Gym, because that was a bar in the heart of campus which I frequented all four years (the other which was a four year bar was the Lanche) and on any given night.  Many of the others were only one night a week spots or we only spent time there during freshman year or senior year etc.

I would also support OP's, because it opened and became very popular during my time at MU; watched many Blackhawk games there; had two friends who were OPs bartenders; and it is where I had my first "Marquette Date" with Mrs. Legs.

Like choosing between your children.   Or which SI swimsuit model is the hottest.    Some questions are just unanswerable.

I actually wasn't there during this time period. I am a grad of the 2000s. Thus, all I have experienced in this list is Hegartys, Angelos and the Gloc. I had no idea what the Lighthouse was. I just saw it in threads. My bad. It shall stay in the poll.

Bad example. Kate Upton. Easy choice

Kate is lovely, but I have a soft spot for red-heads, so I would not choose Kate.     So it applies.

So Kathy Ireland or Angie Everhart?

Had to go lone wolf with O' Pagets just from the perspective of meeting better looking chicks who were less stuck up and hadn't seen dudes all week -- best place to Eat, Drink and Mount Mary!

O'Paget's was our Sr. in high school hangout. Definitely some action there.

BrewCity83

The Circle Inn was our high school hangout in the late '70's--next to the Ardmore.  And it had a dance floor.

The closing of Angelo's was a sad day in my life. I had some great memories getting their pizza and a pitcher night special.  It was a damn shame they closed that place down.

As you may know, the owner had incurable pancreatic cancer and wanted to make sure that the property ended up serving students for the generations to come.  MU successfully purchased the property and even the Angelo's recipes.  The sale to Sobelmen's included several conditions one of which was they were required be open before students arrived back in August 2011.  Good ending.

Cool.  Did not know.  Thanks.
