So....What are we ranked on Monday - 1/6/2025?

So a few weeks ago we're ranked 23rd

In that time we go 4-1 and our only loss is on the road in 2OT to a now ranked team.  Additionally we're 15th in KenPom and have the 6th best offense.  It's really ridiculous to think we're just 25.  We've only improved our resume since last being ranked.

Had we dropped from 23 to 25 after Providence, we'd probably be in the top-15 by now. That's okay, let them all sleep on us.

Guess I should just enjoy being ranked in both polls again but it is going to be annoying if we go 1-1 this week, given the teams we are playing, and drop out next week.

Exactly - put Duke's resume with any other team and they're in the bottom section of the 'others receiving votes'.  But it's been fun watching Scheyer look clueless with his collection of 5 stars.

This week will go a long way toward both ranking and seeding. We could easily drop out and drop back to the bubble discussion with two losses, or we could be talked about like another K-State with two wins.

Results matter, especially at a place like Duke, but do we have evidence yet that he's a "terrible coach"? Maybe you do. I haven't seen a second of Duke basketball this season, but like everyone else I've seen the scores.

With that being said, I think the number by our name makes everyone who supports Marquette much more excited. After we win tomorrow, I see top 15 as quite possible.

One team we won't see ranked is the boring plodders of Madison.

Agree, top 15 is possible with a win and top 20 is possible with a close loss. Also, the badgers will be much closer to the bubble than they are to being ranked once the new polls come out.

I think MU solidly passes these teams regardless of tomorrow:

- Arkansas
- UW
- Providence
- Charleston
- Missouri

Hopefully we don't need to find out.

Arizona down at HT, 5 more such matchups left on the night.

It's quite possible that we pass Xavier after we win. Losing at home easily could drop them from 12 to 17 or 18; beating the #12 team on the road after we just beat the #6 team at home easily could move us from 25 to 15 or 16. Depending on what others do; lots of others are losing.

Sure hope we get to find out if the above is true!
