What makes some folks confident that MU will pass Purdue? That's #15 beating #6, yes soundly, but at home. And, yes, MU had a better win today than Purdue.

Still, a huge swing for both teams is necessary for MU to end higher ranked, and I'm not sure there's really enough other movement to allow for that happen.

I won't be surprised if Purdue is #9 and we are #10.

Next week, as Brew points out, might lead to bigger swings.

Not apples to apples, but Arizona dropped 8 spots after losing big on the road.

ISU and at Uconn(always) are my annual no chance we win games.

We will almost certainly be underdogs in Ames. However,  I noticed that we will be their first game after the Maui Invitational.  If you believe in the Maui hangover, maybe that shifts the odds.

Could be but that will mean the voters don't think highly of Purdue and the Boilermakers will fall like a lead balloon.

Kentucky beat then #6 Duke in far less convincing fashion and jumped from #19 to #9. It wasn't enough to drop Duke, they had to elevate Kentucky as well. Still expect us to land in the top-10 (probably at #10).

Also, FWIW Purdue jumped 7 spots for their Alabama win. Bama fell 6.

Wisconsin went from RV (43) to 19 with their win over Arizona. Arizona dropped eight spots

Seems like the voters are punishing losses and rewarding big wins.

The Purdue win (plus the UGA kicker) is great enough in magnitude that you can throw out the line-by-line calculus that we normally do in this thread. This is a week that changes many voters' overall perception of MUBB, with big bumps likely on many submissions.

No worse than #10, probably #8 or #9.

ESPN power rankings put us at 7 after the Purdue win.  Early season rankings tend to have more weekly movement than later season rankings so I'm thinking 8 or 9 - definitely top ten
