And then again on Saturday with only family and friends watching.

Haha nicely done.

I'm meeting some friends at Poto on Saturday for a little get together for the Marquette and Indiana v OSU ncaaf games.

Problem is, we have no idea if Poto will even get the Marquette game, so I guess I'll bring an iPad and pay the 30 if I have to

Marquette moved up to No. 8 in Wednesday morning's updated CBS Sports Top 25 And 1 daily college basketball rankings. Purdue only dropped to No. 9, which caused Alabama, Tennessee, Kentucky and Duke to all be pushed down one spot each, no fault of their own.

The headliner for Marquette this season has been Kam
Jones -- and trust me, we'll write plenty about Kam Jones in the coming weeks and months -- but the emergence of Stevie Mitchell over the past three games as a bona fide complementary scorer is great news for Shaka Smart. Mitchell had 21 points in the win over Purdue, after going for 18 points against Maryland and 17 against Central Michigan. Prior to this three-game stretch, he had scored 17 or more points just twice in 103 games.
Next seven days: vs. Georgia in the Bahamas (Nov.
23), vs. Stonehill (Nov. 27)

Seriously, top 10.

I think they crack the top ten. IMO, that is unreal accomplishment after losing two guyed to the NBA.

PGsHeroes32

Should be in the top 10

Fanta, CBS and ESPN all moved us to 7 or 8 already. But those were all done Thursday.

I think team like Tennessee has over taken us since then. Same with Duke

Just like the rest of you, I can easily see top 10. But will the voters? Will they be willing to reshuffle the top 10 enough so we can be there?

Yeah there's a decent chance you're right. Toughest thing is the "best" weeks along with ours were Tenn and DUke who were two of the teams just ahead of us.

We are 100% jumping Baylor/Creighton and not getting jumped. So that's 13th.

Almost certain we jump Purdue. Good chance at UNC. That's 11. Really comes down to if they let us jump UK the way UK jumped us for not losing.

I'm pretty sure if you're undefeated with three power conference wins in a row, including a 18 point win over the sixth ranked team, will both put you above the sixth ranked team you just blew out, but also get you in the Top 10.  ::)

Should be close to top 10. This upcoming week will be a blood bath with so many teams playing. We should hopefully coast in our 2 games and really see a jump heading into the Iowa State game. Think there's a chance we sneak into the top 5 in two weeks. We may have the best resume in the country right now.

ONly chance we get into top 5(at that point) is if we win in Ames.

ISU and at Uconn(always) are my annual no chance we win games.

I just wanna see us compete well against the D and crowd

We've been there done that. Get past number 8(7?) and it'll be more impressive than 2013

We definitely pass Purdue, Baylor, and Creighton. I think there's a chance we move past Kentucky and UNC, who really didn't do anything this week. Next week will be a big movement opportunity:

1-Kansas vs 12-Duke
Maui with 2-UConn, 4-Auburn, 5-Iowa State, 10-UNC (only one comes out unbeaten)
7-Houston vs 8-Alabama in Players Era

At least 5 teams currently ahead of us will lose a game next week while we host Stonehill and Western Carolina. We should go into Iowa State very safely in the top-10, possibly between 5-7.

Too much mental gymnastics for someone like me.

But isn't something like 5 or even 6 pretty impossible?

I feel like with all those teams playing and some playing each other, its basically a lock there's going to be wins.

I think we would only pass the couple in front of us that go 1 and done.

I'm going with 8. Hard to put Alabama ahead of us moving forward with there loneloss being to the team Marquette just dismantled

Early season, voters tend to overly punish losses. Unless it's something like last year's Maui where you had the top 3 teams in the country and 4 of the top-7 all in the Final Four of that event, teams will drop a few spots.

Like I said, I see us landing in the 5-7 range. Possible we only climb past a 1-2 in Maui UNC, Duke losing to KU, and the Houston/Alabama loser, but it's not at all unrealistic we end up top-5 going into ISU.

What makes some folks confident that MU will pass Purdue? That's #15 beating #6, yes soundly, but at home. And, yes, MU had a better win today than Purdue.

Still, a huge swing for both teams is necessary for MU to end higher ranked, and I'm not sure there's really enough other movement to allow for that happen.

I won't be surprised if Purdue is #9 and we are #10.

Next week, as Brew points out, might lead to bigger swings.

I mean

We have wins vs them. At Maryland. Neutral Georgia. 0 losses. George Mason> any of their buy games.

They have Bama home. Plus loss to us.

Even if you go with the "lazy voter" strategy on resumes. We were the only game on Tuesday. ANd every talking head mentioned how impressive MU was and talked about Purdues limitations. Hence us jumping them in Fanta/ESPN/CBS who update live.

I'm not guaranteeing it the same way I am we jump Baylor and Creighton. But I put it at like a 97% chance we jump Purdue.
