There is no penalty in American anymore for being openly racist, homophobic, transphobic, anti-Semitic, being an islamaphobe, sexist, etc.

It's fully embraced from the top of the American government on down to the lowest rungs of society.  We're a failed experiment.

America has never reckoned with its original sin.  The refusal to acknowledge it, the refusal to deal with it, and the refusal to accept it as fact has been the kindling to this fire.
