Asked Friday on "Fox & Friends" how Americans can "come back together" to "fix this country" after the fatal shooting in Utah on Wednesday that conservatives have blamed on Democrats and the media, Trump appeared wholly disinterested in any semblance of reconciliation.

Is there some kind of Mormon merit badge for teaching your kids to shoot straight?

This is a worthwhile post. Thank you for posing the question.

WSJ seemed certain this was a cut and dry case.  Now they're stunned the guy that committed the crime was capable of this.

Certain it was transgender shooter and now it's a white guy from a stable, gun-loving family and can't figure out how it happened.

Both sides, Muggsy.

I've never defended Trump's rhetoric.  Or Trump himself, for that matter. It's super interesting that you and others here constantly accuse the other political side of "whataboutisn" and "shifting goalposts."  Basically, what I've read here is exactly that and pretty fking embarrassing.  All I know is a conservative influencer with two kids under 3 was assassinated, and many on the left have been gleeful about it. I could care less about the murderer or what his views were.

As for fanning the flames?  It's absolutely both sides.  And very prevalent with the radical wing of your party.  It's not just Trump who is called a nazi/fascist/dictator every day, it's an ideology that everyone who voted for him are evil. And it's spread nearly every freaking day by a wide range of people in leadership positions, the mainstream media, and entertainment.

I obviously have heard of Charlie Kirk but honestly didn't follow him at all.  What I do know is conservative voices shouldn't need a swat team to speak on University campuses.  Does this happen for Liberal speakers?  I don't think so.  The actual truth is that the far left is virulently anti-anerican and extremely dangerous.  The far right as well, those that are actually white nationalists, are of course dangerous .  But I believe the ideological impact of the radical left has a far larger outreach and worse ramifications.

You're simply wrong. But you are a simpleton, so that checks out. Compare the reactions to Paul Pelosi or the murdered politicians in Minnesota to that of Charlie Kirk and tell me how "a wide range of people in leadership positions" reacted.

Muggsy, considering your diatribes about animals and the Middle East, it is easy to see how you would think the rhetoric from the extremes of either side is equally toxic.   However, as far as actual political violence, the actual data is pretty one sided.
