So you link a NY-post article, whose only source is an anonymous "leak," where no evidence is provided, including comments that the roommate was not trans, and they weren't "partners." Other articles say neighbors say they had never seen anything to indicate that the roommate was trans, or that they were a couple.

Seems like an extremely reckless and un-sourced article that puts peoples lives at risk.

Yeah, that's not how it works.

Make a baseless accusation ("Paul Pelosi was with his gay lover!"). The right-wing echo chamber picks it up and repeats it endlessly for days. If it is untrue, quietly mention this--once.

Result: A meaningful percentage of the population believes the original lie is true.

Example: Many, many right-wingers believe the murderer of the politicians in Minnesota is 1) Tim Walz' friend, and 2) a radical lefty. Utter lies, but that is the entire purpose of the little dance they engage in time after time to radicalize their viewers.
