There's some thought he committed to UNI (Seth Tuttle, old player and current assistant, dropped I guess his version of an "it's happening" gif on Twitter). Hope it's not related to Uelmen, he'd be a great bench guard.

Sounds like the staff stayed late today, here's hoping it's for a guard or a big.

Good to know and good to know we have a chance with Greyson yet. Go Marquette!

He very well might be going to UNI. Like most trolls, they occasionally post correct things they hear elsewhere.

Also, a bad look losing a kid from the Summit to UNI where he'll get far more playing time than he will at Marquette, similar to the minutes he played last year?

Methinks if he has a good year at UNI, he'll be available again next off-season.

Quote from: MarquetteDano on April 28, 2026, 08:13:42 AMYup.  I remember a poster friend, posting here that Dominic James was going to play in the tourney after his injury.  Everyone demanded his sources which he did not.  Everyone called him a liar and he had the post removed.

Wonder if James did play in that game after all?   ::)

Not a great analytical profile.

But I guess an experienced D1 guard is better than an empty chair.

MUFastBreak definitely feels like a troll account. Almost nothing positive posted in an offseason that's been filled with very positive retention/portal activity outside of potentially losing Sheek.

High usage kid that got to the line quite a bit.  Had a good Summit League tourney, especially against St. Thomas.  Calling card on defense would be steals but question how well that translates in a league with better guard play.  BPR indicates he'd be pretty poor moving up to the BE on defense.

Shot well from 2, okay-ish from 3.  3 point shooting was bad in league play.  I'd have pretty low expectations this year for him.  Could he grow into a trustworthy backup?  I think so but I'd temper expectations that he'd be a dynamic pickup

Oh, I'd fully expect some to call for him to start over Stevens or James by the second week of the season if he were on the roster

Zog from Margo

A worse defender than a number of shooters that were slammed here because of their poor defense. Also provides little help from 3. 31st best player in the Summit based on BPR.

This is only a guess, but I'm fairly convinced that MUFastBreak is just some random Marquette student(s).

He is a guard and the net defensive BPM of a guard increases and decreases with the other 5 players on the court a ton.

I hate poor defensive BPM players at marquette.

Poor defensive BPM players not at marquette- and at a low major with poor bigs, they are more tolerable.

Granted, Greyson Uelmen may have been the anchor of the bad defense by being the 2nd worst defender on his team.

noblewarrior

I'm not a fan of bringing in another guard for next years sophomore class... concentrate on 2027 guards... unless coaches know our 2027 guard targets are leaning elsewhere.

JakeBarnes

I think I am looking at Marquette to try and lock up Donovan Davis a year early and get him on campus. Sheek news notwithstanding. I dunno--feels like there are a lot of players to fill a lot of minutes right now. Would rather bet on the upside of a strong player out of the HS ranks.

This would be close to ideal if they think he's ready to contribute a few backup minutes this year. With 5 years of eligibility now it could make sense.

But I will keep telling them no. No worries.
This was the only posting of this account and the account was correct.

Juan Anderson's Mixtape

I don't have much interest in early enrolling HS players.

Most are unlikely to contribute that first year (see Phillips, Michael) and there's always a risk that the very best ones leave for the portal before making a significant impact at MU (see Pearson, Sheek).

And when 5 in 5 passes, HS age players will be at an even bigger disadvantage.  Older transfers that can contribute right away make more sense.

The program is still going to focus on retention and development.
