Fielder is very good and would be highly sought after if he hits the portal, even by teams that have much better bigs than the ones Marquette played last year.  You're talking like he's some complete bum but would still be awesome because Marquette's bigs stink.

Not a bum. He was overmatched in the Big East though. And even at his lowest, I'd take him over what we had.

He was an underclassman and was solid. And he played in the Big East last year, not 15 years ago. It was the current version.

I did an AI search, and it said Wembanyama, Jokic and Duren will be the best bigs in the portal. Hope Marquette can snag one or two of 'em!

HIS current version. Not the Big East's current version. He very clearly took a leap from last year to this year.

Last year at 7 and 5 in 31 starts on 46% from the field.

This year 14 and 6 on 55% in 30 starts.

Right.  Year older and playing at a lower level.

He'll be a sought after transfer and he's a good player. He wasn't overmatched in the Big East, nor was he a stud. He'd be a solid staring 5 for us.

I believe he grades out as the worst defender in the Big East. I'd prefer Jamier Jones if we added someone from that team.

He was awesome in the Ivy League tournament.  Definitely could play at this level and start at the 3 here.

After watching Princeton to Florida transfer Xaivian Lee dribble under the basket, then pass it to his big man's feet without enough time on the clock to get off a shot, it looks like those types would fit in here just fine.

Several sites list him at 6-9, and he only shot 40% - including just 42% on 2-pointers, which is impressively bad for a tall guy.

He was just a soph, and it was his first year as a starter, so I guess he could improve. But based on a pure look at the stats (because I've obviously never seen him play), I hope we can do better.
