Well investment accounts. But he didn't say that we could spend that much.

Quote from: burger on March 14, 2026, 09:54:48 AMI am not the one who lives in Wisconsin where some of their tax money will go to the "rodents" NIL for basketball and football....

I would be kind of pissed about that.....

That bill stalled and that's not what would be happening. The state would be paying athletic debt obligations to free up athletic revenue for NIL.

And oh boy. Another poster thinking a "losers tax" is appropriate.

He's referring to MU's endowment. As we know, that's just free money for athletics to use for NIL. That's why you allways find the Ivy's, Stanford, MIT and Georgetown at the top of the CBB rankings every year:

There are massive restrictions on using endowment coin.

So laundering fungible tax dollars into. NIL.  That is so much better then.
When we stop talking, really bad stuff happens.

No.  Thaf sucks as well.

Pakuni

Would seem likely to follow his coach to K-State, but would be a much-needed shooter for MU.

Heard Stefan Vaaks from Providence is in the Portal

When it became obvious that English was gonna get fired, I started thinking that maybe Vaaks could be a fit for Marquette. He's 6-7, he's a decent athlete, and he handles the basketball reasonably well. He shot 35% from 3 while taking a lot of difficult, sometimes undisciplined 3s, so if he was in a more disciplined attack with a great PG, he could improve his percentage. Providence was a horrible defensive team, so I'm not sure if he's bad at that end or just needs better defensive coaching/teammates/system.

Jamie Kaiser from Butler is in. Glue player, strong defender at 6-6. He has two years remaining after redshirting in 2024-25. He didn't play in the Butler game at MU but had 11 points in the game against us at Hinkle.

Vaaks was the worst of that crew. The word matador comes to mind! But, he can shoot!

Definitely an area of cracked sidewalks... if they were strategically cracked by a high end designer in an aesthetically pleasing manner

Al McGuire would not be a "crack sidewalks" guy in 2026.

Doubt that his grades would transfer over. We need better academics from transfers than a guy from Cornell for God's sake! Oh, wait a minute...41% from 3, 17 pts. a game? I'm good with him coming to MU.

Vadgers cooled on him. Clearly couldn't handle the academic rigors in Madison.

From Cornell?  Offensively, he was a black hole, son.

Concern would be poor D and that he played 1 top 50 quality game and wasn't great. I think you can look past that given the overwhelming value on offense.

I believe he grades out as the worst defender in the Big East. I'd prefer Jamier Jones if we added someone from that team.
