Juan Anderson's Mixtape

Quote from: onepost on March 29, 2026, 11:08:15 AMIdeally we'd get:
- Sherrell/Evans/Oswin/etc.
- Byrd/wing with size
- Minessale seems to be close to a sure thing and that's a perfect 6th man to me
- Odih

Pardon me, but who is Sherrell? If it's Aiden Sherrell from Alabama, that would be a dream come true for MU.

Vander Blue Man Group

Quote from: 1SE on March 29, 2026, 10:25:48 AMI definitely did, but i looked at his game logs running up to that too... if you think this I'd a "good piece" I have some Caedin Hamilton to sell you

Just an absurd comparison.

Yeah. Can't imagine he comes given he'd be the top of everyone's lists, but point being an experienced C.

Galway Eagle

Quote from: onepost on March 29, 2026, 11:08:15 AMObviously we have the relationship from recruiting him, hilarious if he'd end up here after shiiting on MU after he committed to WVU haha.

What'd he say?
Retire Terry Rand's jersey!

"The difference between my Marquette and West Virginia visits was the community. The community in West Virginia was more welcoming. In a school, I'm looking for a winning program and a place where they value relationships"

IIRC we recruited over Odih so it very well have been sour grapes. Still funny.

brewcity77

Stevens committed in August, Odih visited WVU 2 weeks after that and committed a month later. I think it's as simple as there was no room left for him when Stevens committed.

Hilarious looking back at now with how much room for playing time there actually would have been here.

Not exactly a ringing endorsement though, that he couldn't get time in the horrible St Johns guard room.
VIOLENCE!

Quote from: 1SE on March 29, 2026, 10:24:40 AMAnd a scintillating 53 minutes those were too, I'd assume all in garbage time.

This team doesn't need another project- it needs impact transfers who can come in and make a difference now. If we're gonna use Tres scholarship for a guy who *might* be good in a couple tears, we might as well just use it next year and in bring an impact transfer then

If Shaka can't bring in impact transfers, then we might as well shut the whole thing down and bask I  the glory of being a mid-major program that's spends 500k a year on hoops

As always, the best course of action is to freak out about something that might or might not happen.

Don't know.......i think MU's relationship with Sean is good but obviously don't know what will happen with him.

Royal could be looking for a chance to win it all in his last season like lots of guys do in his position........

Quote from: Jay Bee on March 29, 2026, 11:37:10 AMDoes BCHoopster or MU marketing also work for St. John's? What a bizarre commentary on Kelvin Odih:

2025-26
Missed last nine games due to injury heading into the NCAA Tournament...Made 10 appearances off the bench going into the Big Dance...

Made 10 appearances before being out the last nine because of injury. And those 10 appearances were "going into the Big Dance"?? wtf are they talking about?

I think the key question for me is, 'how many guys are leaving'?  If we have four or more spots, I'm good with Kelvin joining us.

We've taken flyers on lesser resumes than a top 65 recruit who didn't play much on a very talented team, partly due to injury.

Exactly. But you will still have many here jumping down your throat for thinking its in our best interest to offload the deadweight.

If there's 4+ open spots, Odih is a 100% yes for me.
3 - Eh
2 - Absolutely not

Few Scoopers deny it's in the team's best interest to "offload the deadweight." But many of us think it's unrealistic to expect a half-dozen or more players to get Sha-kut. You might not be happy about that, and that's your prerogative, but it doesn't make it any more likely.

I prefer my coaches doing what's in the team's best interests.

And bringing in 5-6 new players would not accomplish that.

OK. But you're stuck with Shaka for now.

Most of us were pretty happy with him for at least 3 1/2 years. But yes, he needs to do better.

It might or it might not. There's no way for us to know. I'm really interested in seeing how April unfolds.

This guy wouldn't be a bad pickup.

Quote from: onepost on March 29, 2026, 11:08:15 AMJTJ3 clarified it better than me: this has been coming almost exclusively from SJU people. It came up a couple months ago that they thought he'd be transferring to MU, and got reiterated again yesterday that they feel he's "MU bound". Obviously we have the relationship from recruiting him, hilarious if he'd end up here after shiiting on MU after he committed to WVU haha.

But Brew said it best, if he truly comes then IMO he'd absolutely need to be a 4th guy taken. Great upside and the talent is there, but seems repetitive when our actual needs are shooting, size, PG capabilities.

Ideally we'd get:
- Sherrell/Evans/Oswin/etc.
- Byrd/wing with size
- Minessale seems to be close to a sure thing and that's a perfect 6th man to me
- Odih

We'd need 3 actual immediate contributors before taking a guy like Odih.

I heard some insider news that Minessale is pretty much a Sure Thing from a source unrelated to MU. Obviously, would make sense to sit on it until the portal opens.
