My comments from the perspective of a fan trying to enjoy the action more than performing a scouting analysis.

I was actually pleasantly surprised with Hamilton, but I’m looking at him from the perspective of whether he could be on the court for a few minutes at a time if needed because of injury or foul trouble. I don’t see him as a major contributor this season.

I'm trying to remember what Theo John was like as a freshman.

Like almost everyone, I was really impressed with Owens. He’s going to be in the hunt with Lowery and Norman to be one of the first off the bench. Lowery seemed better than Norman last night, but I thought that last year too and Norman seemed to be ahead of him in the pecking order.

Parham did seem a little slower and more tentative than I hoped, but I expect him to be ahead of Hamilton in the pecking order. He may be a little behind in conditioning.

The scrimmage was pretty fast and they seemed to be calling it pretty loosely. The aggressive defense and fast pace not surprisingly led to some sloppy play.

Mitchell, Ross, Jones, Joplin, and Gold are going to be a solid starting 5 and the competition for PT behind them will be interesting to follow.

I can see Hamilton and Gold playing together at times.  Hamilton gives you a defensive presence that Gold will never have.  Jop makes the offense slow down, they might be better when he is on the bench.

For those who were there, I'm surprised that no one yet commented on the Chase Ross dunk in traffic, I think in the 2nd half. That was the most violent one-handed dunk I've see in a long, long time. I'm shocked he didn't hurt himself. It sure woke up the crowd.

BAM.  My gut feeling is we're going to be fine dtd.

Bench? I don't know why Shaka hasn't just cut Jop. We didn't really need to win that Colorado game, anyway.

Shaka keeps Joplin around for all of the fans who want local guys on the team.

Yes. Who then complain that he plays too much.

Usually no tickets needed…open door. When they are required, MU will forward tickets to season ticket holders.

Thanks, WRFF. There's a chance we might be in the area this year and it would be fun to go to one of these.
