Got us to a Sweet 16. That's why you work all year to get a high seed. So you can beat decent but not great teams.

We played a horrible game against a team we should've beat tonight. Sucks. But that's college hoops and a one and done tourney format.

Last 2 years have been awesome.

This team has been so fun to watch the last two years. I wish it ended better for them, but that's why we still celebrate 77 and 03 and 74. It's hard as heck to make it and takes some luck. We had so many shots go halfway down and they got some good bounces.

Embarrassing performance.  We absolutely gifted that game to NC State.  I know we've all seen Marquette shrink many times in big moments, but with the talent and experience of this team, that was an all timer. 

Joplin and Oso must've had money on NC State. 

Hate to see Kolek go out like that.

Two years with legitimate Final Four squads, and one (1)  Sweet Sixteen.

The kicker is that if Marquette plays an average game (St. Thomas level performance), they are in the Elite 8.  I'm not sure how anyone cannot be disappointed.

I disagree. Year 3 of a rebuild and they're in the Sweet 16. Played like crap tonight but they don't have the horses to take the ball inside and finish. Too much finesse.

Its our best regular season team in how long and we can't beat the 55th ranked kenpom team in the s16. It's a failure.

Final 4 expectations and fizzle out in sweet 16. Disappointing season. NC Sate was in complete control of the game from the tip. What a shame. I feel bad for Kolek, he actually wanted to win today.

Hopefully Shaka can bring in some
Better Players next year. We had a solid team but need to be Excellent to compete at these levels.

I will compliment this group of players as probably the most enjoyable to watch since The Al era. They were a Whole is greater than sum of parts team , and when playing in tune with other they made beautiful music on the court

Nothing but gratitude. This has been an unbelievably enjoyable and winning group.  Today is heartbreaking, no doubt, but the standard has one again been set.

Compete for conference championships and deep tournament games.

I think the failure to meet post season expectations can dampen any mood but MUBB is relevant again on the big stage and it's great to see the turnaround from an era of much higher frustration pre-Shaka.

But yeah, to lose to an opponent you're clearly better than and go out with a D- performance is a tough one to swallow

They beat us the same way they've won the other 7 in a row. I thought it was luck, but their defense has been forcing some bad 3 point performances.

That might be some consolation if there wasn't going to be a rebuild within the rebuild next season.

Shaka is going to have some tough decisions to make about additions to the roster if he wants to make the NCAA tournament next year, much less have a realistic shot at the Sweet 16. It isn't going to happen with only the returning players and the incoming freshmen while the competition is beefing up from the transfer portal.
