1.  Shoot poorly, lose.   Don't over think it.
2.  Stevie has not hit a 3 since the Oduro pick.  But he still played with heart.
3.  MU actually played decent defense.
4.  No quit.  The true hallmark of this team.
5.  In the words of Pat Benatar, It's a little too little, it's a little too late.

Thanks for a great season.

Another disappointing year

Heart is never the problem with this team. Sadly that's a minor consolation with this result. Pretty tough to argue this team didn't disappoint relative to expectations. Just an awful end to the season.

gotta be one of the most disappointing losses in history of MU ball.......that is all

6.  Another fart in the wind post-season.

Last 2 years have been awesome.

Last three years really. Been a joy to watch these guys.

Depends who you ask.

Not really. Highest seed we've ever been each of the last 2 years. BE regular season and Tourney title last year. Sweet 16 this year. Pretty objectively incredible, especially given where we were 4 years ago.

56-17.
0 wins against single digit seeds when it counts.

56-17.

Plenty of joy these past two seasons. They'll be remembered for sure. But sadly part of that legacy is not accomplishing the ultimate goal.

forgetful

The crazy thing about this game. Is most of the 2nd half, I still thought we were going to win. We got the stops we needed to, we turned them over at key times, we got the looks we needed.

We just never could get the 3's to fall, and there were a couple backbreaking late shot clock makes by NCstate.

7 game series, I think we win 5 or 6.

They only needed this 1 though.

I would trade 50% of their heart for 20% better shooting...

and what did it accomplish in the postseason? beat a couple double digits to make a sweet 16 i guess. the road was there for so much more. gotta be one of the biggest disappointments for a team in this programs history

What does the high seed get us? Nothing. We blew it both times. Teams are judged off tournament success and we pissed down our legs both years

Marquette can take heart in the fact that very few teams are as good at embarrassing exits from the tourney than they are.  Bravo fellas.  Way to add to the tradition.

The cylinder reversal call on Burns was the play that changed the game.

I disagree. Year 3 of a rebuild and they're in the Sweet 16. Played like crap tonight but they don't have the horses to take the ball inside and finish. Too much finesse.

Eh. I'm not a fan just for the championships. Gotta enjoy the ride otherwise it's not worth the effort.

If we won this game we most likely play Houston, who would have made us wish for tonight's offensive output.
