Gutsy win by the Warriors. The boys have played a lot of big games over the past two years and their composure helped get them the win. Hopefully the first of several gutsy wins over the next several weeks.

Oh he played in 2nd half. Took maybe the worst shot of the season, then didnt play anymore shortly after.

Right, man that's right. Just came off bench a few seconds and took it.  MU was up like 7 or 8. Shaka benched him immediately, so no real time on floor.

MSG will be a riot tomorrow. Jealous of those attending.

Don't want to play PC. They're as dirty as anyone and there are never any calls.

It's not easy to get all excited thinking you've won on a great play, finding out you didn't actually win, getting over the disappointment, and then winning in OT.

Showed a lot of mental strength. Proud of the guys.

Q1 win without Kolek. Wouldn't be that if it was DePaul. Metrics also would've dropped had we not won by 25+.

Apparently we're the only Scoopers who think rationally ww.  :)

Would of been hell if they lost in OT after that

Gimme easy tomorrow, gutsy on Saturday, easy until Detroit and count me in for as many gutsy as possible after that.

Shaka stuck with his guys tonight.

Norman maybe four minutes in first half, believe no play in second
Lowery maybe four minutes in first, did not play in second. (wasn't very good tonight)

Gold played and made two key threes and did not play for final 13 minutes.  I don't understand it because Joplin was a walking time bomb.

Probably players exhausted now and bit hyped up, but Providence has played two games in two days.  Go get em guys.

Norman played 12 minutes - about right imo. Lowery 5. I was OK with that too.

Gold only 16, even though he played well. Head scratcher, Shaka must not have like the match ups with two big in together.

That shot in OT  by Chase was huge Dr. V.  Maybe that gives him greater confidence moving forward?

Especially when in Regulation with little time left Villanova was in the floor with the ball and he never did ask for a timeout.  They got the time out, missed a shot or two then jop fouled the three point shooter and he made them all and tied the game.   Ugh.

Just saw updated boxscore:

Oso, Kam and Stevie each played over 40.....
Joplin and Ross like 35.
Norman 12, but right Gold 16.  He did sit last 13 minutes.  Maybe Shaka thought Nova guys too quick or something.

One thing I noticed was the play of Justin Moore from Nova.  Years ago he was on pace to be an All American and NBA prospect.  Injury to achilles and knee have done him in, just a sad story. I mentioned earlier in the day that Hausen from Nova is dangerous from three and had not scored in two prior games.  Didn't want him to go off tonight.  He did not and look at this:

Justin Moore 1 for 10 from field, 0 for 6 from three.
Hausen         1 for  9 from field, 1 for 8 from three

Totals:          2 for 19 from field, 1 for 14 from three

And I thought Joplin had a bad night....

Chase has been good from distance.  His issue has been finishing at the rim, especially through contact.  Big point of development this summer.

Ya...I think he is off balanced and goes full throttle when he could easily just slow down, finish, or kick to an open man.  He'll figure it out.

Yep. Have him spend all summer with Kam and Stevie working on his touch around the hoop, he can learn a ton from them.

For now, defend like heck and try to get some timely steals and rebounds.
Any 3 is a bonus, and when you go to the hoop go hard to dunk and/or get fouled

That was perfectly contained compared to Stevie being laid out.

These refs need to be barred from the rest of the tournament. That was insane.

The play call at the end of regulation was great.   The officials ultimately got it right.  Telling Oso to go get a basket with 5 seconds on the shot clock, up 2, when he hasn't made anything and has honestly looked bad all game on offense?   Huevos grande.

MU switched even more than usual yesterday, IMO to stay up on 3 pt shooters.  Stevie spent a lot of time on Dixon, and Oso showed once again he can guard on the perimeter.

Would have liked to see a lateral view of the ball leaving Kam's hand at the end of regulation instead of only a vertical one.  Another clutch victory

Need a point guard for next year. Kam gets stretched side to side. Need someone who can break down the defense, collapse the defense, and kick. Kam is doing a great job when needed, but he's best scoring off the ball. Defenses can bottle us up with him on the ball the entire game.

Gritty as hell. Big East wanted their NE semifinal. Sorry to crash the party.
Kam is playing so well, I'm starting to wonder if we'll need to replace him, too!

That kid Armstrong is a heckuva player for Nova.  He gave us fits in their big comeback and again last night.  Good thing he had foul trouble, we built our lead when he was sitting.

Yeah, I think these games have been very valuable. We will need guys to step up in the tourney, and we have seen some clutch performances.

Also, one of my worries early on was it felt like when the team went on a run, we got panicky and tried to get it all back at once, which compounded things. I haven't seen that much the second half of the season. The experience is really showing.
