It's sad how long I've been eyeing the ND game on the schedule.

Love Shaka mixing in Lowery. He's going to be a good player.

Kolek is an s-tier college player.

Heading up for the game Saturday. Will be disappointed if we don't win by 40.

Ditto! Really psyched for the slaughter. Fiserv's gonna be rockin'.

I'm going to get so drunk on Saturday. Should be a fun one.

MU will KILL ND ... won't even be a game ...

Pakuni

Disappointed they let Texas close the gap at the end. Need to learn to finish.

Incredible bounce back from an extremely poor performance last Saturday.

High effort on defense completely put a stranglehold on Texas' shot making. If not for abmas, we win by 50. They had no business being on the same floor as us tongiht.

Wisconsin fans might've thought the same on Saturday.

Marquette, and TyKo in particular, were men on a mission.

When Tyler is in that zone the entire team feeds off of it.

For anyone that's played a lot of ball, it was easy to see in the first 10 seconds what Tyler was gonna do all night. Got the tip, dribbled up and buried a '3'.

He ain't doing that unless his shot was golden in warmups.

Lowery was a difference maker tonight on the defensive end!! Those were some important minutes in the first half.

Also shocked Texas is ranked so high. They absolutely stink. The second half defensive effort was an abomination. You could drive a Mack truck into the lane.

Disu coming back will help, but I wouldn't be surprised to see them on the bubble this year.

#1 totally changed the flow of the game.

Right on.  Zaide shut Abams down.  Great call by Shaka to put Zaide and his length/athleticism on Abams.  I think we will continue to see Zaide emerge as the season moves forward.

Was great to see Joplin play with more effort on the D-boards and to see him make a couple of 3s.

Let's just take a second here...

A team we think will most likely be on the bubble "stinks".

We were on or below the bubble like 7 of the 8 seasons pre-Shaka.

Excellent win for our guys tonight. Delighted that they got back in the saddle and rounded up The Longhorns.

Ha! What will the opening line on that game be?

~20pt favorites, it would seem right now.

Amidst all the enjoyment, a downer from SJ22. Reverted to driving into the tall trees.

Hope he'll bounce back.

Teams have adjusted to this year's version.  Time for him to make his countermove.   Hitting 3's would help.

Looking at you, too, Stevie.

Last night, on two occasions, once for Ross and once for Norman, MU actually ran a set designed to get a drive to the rack.   Ross made his, Norman got his blocked with authority.    It caught my eye for two reasons.  First, MU actually ran a play.   Second, it was similar to a set that Wojo used to get lay ups for JjJ and Haanif (when he didn't flinch)

Loved this effort tonight. Loved seeing the team hit 46.7% from behind the arc. Regression toward the mean. I'm still hopeful Stevie and Sean will individually regress toward the mean (instead of just regressing). Jop had a couple of drives where he seemed to have a bit more confidence. Perhaps I'm misremembering, but I seem to recall that in years past Jop seemed more confident driving to the hoop. This year he seems to start the drive and then pull up about 6-8 feet out and be tentative. I thought last night he had a couple drives where he finished strong. A positive development. Kolek was absolutely fantastic. Glad to see the Warriors lay a whoopin' on the Longhorns for Shaka -- even if he'd say he doesn't care.

Also, one small item of credit where due - I loved the fight in that Weaver kid when he took an elbow to the mouth, then proceeded to rip the ball away from TyKo and go coast-to-coast for a slam.

I liked seeing Brown, Lucas, Omalley, and Riley seeing playing time against starters for the #12 team.

Trying to be more like Omax. Ha.   That was one thing that frustrated me about Omax.   Beating his man off the dribble, getting INto the lane, and NOT FINISHING.

Good call. I was pretty damn impressed by Weaver - high-energy guy who played with an edge.

Sean Jones was the one player who did not have a good game last night.  He is now 2 for 20 from three at a 10% rate and his last made three was during the UCLA game. He only played eight minutes and Lowery got more playing time than him in a blowout.  A lot of posters believe he is the heir to point guard after Kolek leaves, but at this pace, that probably won't be an option.  Tre Norman is the probable candidate.  Yes, he is very quick, but also very agressive on defense resulting in numerous reach in fouls. You cannot have a 5ft 9 point guard that can't hit the side of a barn at this rate, as your guy.  Look at Abmas from Texas, who is a few inches taller and is shooting at a 40% rate from three.  There are many other point guards for comparison purposes, but let's hope Sean Jones can turn it around soon. The team will need his improvement.

He may have his chance against ND this weekend against Markus Burton, ND leading scorer and a very quick guard.  But, Shaka did not utilize Sean against Abmas last night, it was others and he brought in Lowery with five minutes to go in first half to disrupt Abmas.  I thought Sean would go up against him with his quickness, but Shaka made the move and it worked.  Hoping for a bounce back game or games for Sean in next couple of weeks.

Bring your checkbook...actually bring your credit card, it's only plastic.

I've found my Fiserv drink and it's ridiculous.  A double tequila or double vodka + soda.  Runs you $22 + tip.  I can make those last a half and it's so much better for your soul than drinking A-B products.

The hitch is they won't serve you two at a time so if my wife wants one, we have to buy seperately. Yes, seriously they won't sell you two doubles.  They won't even sell you 1 double and 1 beer.  It really is the worst arena in America.
