I used to.    And for the last 18 years of my career I worked at single company stations.  Just 3 of us.   Rarely ate as a group.

Chili is great. Can't get behind coco or cinnamon in it though. I think Skyline uses at least coco.

Good call. I was pretty damn impressed by Weaver - high-energy guy who played with an edge.

It all changed for him after half when he came out with matching shoes.

I'm a Coke Zero guy if anything these days

Love Coke Zero. Tastes like the real thing, always hated the tinny aftertaste of Diet Coke.

I have not ordered chili in a restaurant since Senior Week, 1988.  Chili is something I want on a hot dog. And whatever it is, it would taste better with a diet Pepsi.

I would respond to you, but since I have you on ignore I can't, but if I did, I would castigate you for the diet part even more. My MIL is addicted to those so now you remind me of her.  ;D
If we ever are in Milwaukee together, I will happily buy you real chili though! ( are you here this weekend by chance?)

#1 totally changed the flow of the game.

Zaide defended well. I don't think we can say it changed the flow of the game.

Zaide checked in with 5:10 to go in the first half. Marquette was in the midst of an 11-2 run and had a 29-22 lead. Abmas had cooked us early, but by this point had been stopped by Mitchell. Abmas hadn't scored since the 11 minute mark. Over the next three minutes, Texas went on a 6-0 run, with Abmas being responsible for 4/6 points. One bucket was in transition and not Lowery's cover in any way, but the other basket was with Lowery on him. Wasn't bad defense, but Abmas is talented and pulled up over Zaide and made a short jumper off a dribble drive. The lead was cut to 29-28. During this stretch, Zaide only touched the ball once on offense and took a wide open three but missed.

Over the last 2:23 of the half, our offense went nuclear. While the defense forced four consecutive stops. Lowery was responsible for one of the stops deflecting an Abmas pass that another Texas player caught but couldn't handle and dropped it out of bounds. Lowery also got lucky on one of the stops. Abmas crossed him up and Zaide literally ended up on the floor while Abmas took a wide open jumper from the elbow that fortunately missed. Lowery literally did not touch the ball on offense during this stretch as MU extended the lead to 39-28. Zaide was subbed out for the final 13 seconds which resulted in another three pointer for MU.

Zaide defended well and I love that Shaka threw that curveball. I just don't think we can say it changed the flow of the game when Abmas started scoring again after a long drought and Texas initially shrunk the lead to from 7 to 1. I think Kolek sinking three consecutive 3s (with a pair of Ross free throws mixed in there) is what changed the flow.

I view Zaide this season kind of the same way I viewed Sean Jones last season. He's a nice change of pace and curveball that forces the other team to think and change their attack, but he's not ready to be a consistent contributor yet. He absolutely will be in the future. I love his athleticism and he has a confidence that you don't find in most freshmen. As Shaka would put it, he's a future dude.

Excellent synopsis of what really happened.

People remember what they want to remember. There are still those who think Jake's 4-point play turned the tide in that Syracuse game years ago even though Cuse ended up leading by more points later in the game and even though Jake was glued to the bench during the actual run that actually turned (and eventually won) the game.

Like you and some other Scoopers (and Shaka), I'm high on Zaide, and I'm glad he was able to make a contribution. But to paint him as the guy who turned Wednesday's game ... uh, no.

Shooter McGavin

Zaide demonstrated he was a long athletic defender on the perimeter at the end of the half and in combination with the offensive output by MU helped change the complexion of the game.  When watching the game live his contribution seemed significant.  It was like a breath of fresh air.  Shaka had found someone with length to help shut down an opposing teams best scorer.

When watching the game a second time knowing the outcome and being more analytical, the tide had already started to turn.  Zaide just helped seal the deal along with the offense. But Zaide is still a great find and will hopefully be very useful going forward against the other teams hot scorer. Will be a great change of pace.

Zaide came into a big game in December of his Freshman year playing meaningful minutes and wasn't obviously out of place. Phenomenal imo.

Nobody is saying anything differently. Excited to have Zaide on the team, and looking forward to seeing his role gradually grow as Shaka deploys him.

As an investor, I prefer Pepsi (PEP) to Coca-Cola (KO) because of Pepsi's snack division. Frito-Lay kills it, and Coke has nothing like it.

I'm not a big soda drinker, but I enjoyed the Coke Zeros I got on my last couple of flights.

FWIW, I'm actually drinking a Coke Zero in the Admirals Lounge at CLT right now. Flight leaves for Milwaukee in about 90 minutes. Can't wait to watch our 40-point win tomorrow night!
