I'd imagine they just seed teams they rank 1-4 as 1 seeds, 5-8 as 2 seeds, 9-12 as 3 seeds, etc.

I read "current" for 5th best and "projected" for 3 seed. Based on projected record, doesn't appear 100% crazy

No idea, but it is ludicrous. Marquette is at worst a 2-seed right now. Purdue is ahead, and you can make a case for UConn, Arizona, and Houston. But there are definitely not four more teams that would be ahead of Marquette, and I'd take our resume over UConn and Houston without question.

So if MU wins the Big East and Kansas the B12 as this predicts, does Kansas get the #1 seed in the South (Omaha/Dallas) (assuming Purdue is #1 in Midwest (Indianapolis/Detroit)? Or does the NCAA send MU East?

It matters who has the higher 1 seed. In the case the rankings go as follows:

Purdue
Marquette
Kansas.

Purdue would go to Indy and then Marquette would get the next closest location even if Kansas is closer distance wise. I forgot what year it was but Gonzaga or Zona were the 1 seed and there regional was on the east coast.

Harder than playing #1 and #2? If he thinks we are the 5th best team, the schedule shouldn't matter. Logically, we should be a 2 seed in his projections.

Guys,  it's a computer model. It doesn't use that kind of logic. Same as Kenpom, which has us favored to win all but 2 games the rest of the year but projects our record as 24-7(15-5). It assigns a probability of win based on how favored we are and then "rolls the dice". If we played 20 games where we had a 51% chance to win, would you expect to go 20-0? Don't read too much into it. We get to play the games
