I had been trying to understand why for weeks this predictor had MU as the #3 team in the Big East. At least finally after beating Georgetown of all teams it is expecting them to be the second best team in the league! I am guessing it was due to the early losses.

I would imagine that it had more to do with CU losing to BU but that model is pretty suspect regardless.

Yeah I'm not buying the bona fides on that one, I guess it must have some effciency in it for MU to get that bump from a blow out road win, but still. Our results based metrics are slightly better than our efficiency metrics, so i don't get it. I always click this thread to check tho cuz i simply must firgure out why its weird.

I'm going to assume it just calls teams 1-4 a one seed, 5-8 a two seed, 9-12 a three seed, and so on.  Otherwise, they need to fix some things.

I think they seed based on projected outcomes.

Lose to Creighton away -very possible
Lose to UConn home - very possible
Lose to Creighton in BET neutral - possible
Then that thing that brewcity laughs at is reality and prescient.

Now I'm a MU fan still stewing about the humiliation of Saturday... But I'm an optimist and our team can be inconsistently great just like it can be inconsistently bad. So I see us beating CR twice and winning one of the two UC games.  But that's the ever a fan speaking. And a 2 seed (hope we get Purdue Region) speaking.
