As you may remember, I was a big supporter of Omax and felt he played a big role in the success last year. That said, I think he will be replaced by multiple guys with no different skills.
My biggest reason for optimism, aside from a deep talented team, is experienced men that have played together. They felt success as a team and had a bad ending game. I felt the UNC game would be catalyst going into last season and think MSU is similar.
Lastly, while I loved Omax, I think a vastly improved Joplin, Ross and Gold is going to fill the void.

If they lose to UCLA, they will likely play only 2 games against D-I opponents. Huge game.

You're right, 6-9 that in practice is actually 5-9.

Assuming Herman means that we beat Chaminade and lose to UCLA and not-Syracuse in the 5th place game, Herman has us going 2-12 in the 14 games that KenPom gives us a 65% chance or less of winning. And then on top of that, Herman has us losing at home to Notre Dame, a game we are currently a 95% favorite in. KenPom isn't everything, especially preseason, but c'mon.


Losing any one of those 14 games is possible. Losing 12 of them? No way. Losing 12 of them and losing to Notre Dame? To borrow from Muggsy, UNACCEPTABLE.
