I typically agree with your takes. This one? no. Homer a racist? Come on. He calls basketball games where the players are probably 75% black. So, you are saying Homer feels a superiority to another race, yet wants to travel and associate with said race he feels superior too? I don't know Homer. Met him twice. But he offers a lot of time to some good causes. I'm 99.9% sure Homer is a good guy, not a bigot.

Viper- you're completely misreading the point of my post. It was the opposite of calling or accusing Homer of being racist.  My post was loaded with sarcasm towards those insisting he's racist over a couple tweets vs two African Americans who no doubt know him on a much more personal level.

4.  Jeff Levering is in the backyard and has made Milwaukee home.  Don't know if he'd want the job but he should be choice A.
I like Levering too and he was first to pop into mind as a replacement.  But he's already got a long travel season with the Brewers.  I don't know if he has wife/ children, but I would think he'd want some offseason to recharge. Right now he just does a handful of home games only for Fox Sports. Enough to keep him a little busy in the offseason without the travel and time away from family.

Plus spring training would overlap the last couple weeks of the regular season.

They'll probably need to look elsewhere if Homer doesn't want it anymore, MU doesn't want him, or both.

I think it's far easier and much better for personal agendas to create a narrative for one person based on a couple vague tweets

You're probably correct about this.  He'll be in the big seat next year with Uecker retiring, too.

Homer has been known to post on this board in the past. Would love to read his take on this bullchit. Steve, represent, aina?
Great idea!

Some y'all don't care for him as a pbp guy. Fine, opinions are like ass holes. Everyone has one.
Racism? Y'all are full of chit and talkin' out yo ass. This should not have gotten any traction 'cuz Steve is not racist. Nothing could farther from the truth, hey?

Jeff Levering is married with a couple of young children. Lives in Menomonee Falls I believe. With doing some TV work in the Midwest for college basketball and now dabbling in college football ( he worked the Utah State/Iowa game Saturday) he has a lot on his plate.
Excellent play-by-play guy, though.

Or if Brian Anderson finally decides to go national full time, I imagine Levering would also be offered the TV job full time.  That's about a 150 game a year gig with days off now and then. Probably better exposure, too, for a young broadcaster.

I was hanging out with him at a bar in Tosa once. After a few Miller Lites he confessed to me that he indeed is not racist.

Good enough for me.

Thanks.  We can now confirm Steve is not a racist.

Were 7 pages into an argument over a marquette announcer who broadcasts on a dead medium.

What makes do they average on a broadcast, maybe a couple thousand? If that

Imagine reading a blog article which convinces you of a stance only to make fun of someone who actually went up and asked him why he's doing less work....

Ah yes. There it is. "He worked with a black guy! Can't be racist."

It's amazing how many of you can't formulate a thought without some extremist political dogma guiding you.  Most of you in this thread (right and left) are brainwashed morons who need to get off of social media for your own mental health.

Anderson isn't leaving.  He's quite happy here

I think Homer was at Wade's HOF induction and highly doubt Wade invited racists to the event. But, there appears to be a number of folks on here that know better.

I realize he's quite happy here. I think it's possible in life to be quite happy in more than one place.r

He's had a lot of opportunities to leave in the past and has a big national presence anyway.  I think he's here for awhile but certainly not taking Marquette
