I just booked my flight and hotel. Questions for those who have attended before:
1. If you buy a ticket for a particular day, is it for all the games that day?
2. If so, can you come and go from MSG?
3. Is it best to buy tickets one day at a time?

Thanks in advance.

2- all exits are final.
Thanks for ruining summer, Canada.

I think the question of when to by tickets is tricky because it depends a lot on where teams get seeded and how they do. Unfortunately, UConn's inclusion in Session 2 (Thursday morning) is driving up prices for that session (which also happens to include Marquette). Last I checked, prices for Session 2 were actually higher than the prices for the Semifinals (at least for the cheapest seats available). Those would have been cheaper to buy before it became clear that UConn would be in that session. If UConn wins on Thursday, I suspect tickets for the Semifinals will go up as the UConn fans snap them up. If UConn loses on Thursday, there may be a dip in the price for the Semis. I think that the same scenario will play out with both UConn and Villanova - if those two teams advance, ticket prices will probalby rise; if they lose, ticket prices likely will stay flat or drop.

Does Providence have the tiebreaker over Creighton if they wind up tied?  Ty.

Yes, by virtue of having a win over Marquette

Brooklyn Bagel & Coffee Company has a few locations in the city. Excellent bagels.

Ty.  That likely UCONN/Creighton match-up should be a good one.

+1.  I'm also a fan of Zuckers... I opt for the Delancey every time.

Great, now I'm craving.

I looked last week and could have bought Session 2 tickets for $40-something.  Today they are like $140-something.  Yikes.

When you say Session 2, do you mean the first session on Thursday? If so, where are you seeing tickets for $140? The cheapest I see on Ticketmaster are $215+.

Edited to add: I realize now you're probably not including the fees. I do see some in the $150 range without fees.

Yes Session 2 is Thursday afternoon. Last I looked, which was yesterday, the Friday tickets were indeed running cheaper.
The Stubhub fees are insane.

I bought my Thursday tix during the DePaul game Saturday. I think they were about  twice as much as the quarterfinal last year, but the equivalent ticket is now close to $200 more than what I paid. I wonder though if that will change closer to the date, as now is pretty much when people are making plans.

I’ve been stupid and failed to look for tickets to Friday night’s semis before now. The cheapest tickets are $190?!  That’s crazy!

The semi tickets have been holding pretty steady compared to last week. That’s also about what they were after the quarterfinals last year. Bartender told us last year that the semis are usually the hottest ticket.

IF** Providence is losing late this morning,  may buy Thursday tix right then.

Thinking is a PC loss + Creighton win in Chicago = Prov in the 4 seed vs UCONN and a potential run on tickets this afternoon or tonight

For those who waited, ticket prices are as low as I've seen them for a couple weeks. You can get in the door for the early session tomorrow for as low as $100 (plus fees) and there are dozens of tickets available for under $200 (including fees). Compare this to a week ago when you couldn't even get in the door for under $200. The semis are slightly lower than they were before, but still pretty pricey.

True dat. It’s what I’m seeing as well. We’ll continue to monitor, but may sit for a Butler upset before buying

Manny Bates and Eric Hunter Jr. are being held OUT today for failure to meet academic standards of the program.

That will just about end Butler's season and Hunter Jr's career.

Hunter is a non entity.

But they definitely needed Bates to have any chance.

"Significant news out of the gates for Butler, who will be without starters Manny Bates and Eric Hunter Jr. for today’s first round matchup with St. John’s due to not meeting the academic expectations of the program."

I still wonder if Matta is going to be around next year.

I’m guessing that Butler’s standards for academics, and for player conduct in general, are tougher than Alabama’s.
