Just wish Shaka would've played the walk ons and saved the squad's legs in a game we could not win.

Great team win!  Happy for them.  Happy for Shaka.

It was nice to show that we can play with the big boys. Excellent recovery from -11. I think it was truly a team effort. I am blown away by the difference from what I thought this team might accomplish prior to the season.

He won another close one...pure craziness!

What's great is that didn't even feel like our A-game and we still won.

UConn is in a rough part of their schedule.  Three rough road games.   In all 3 games, it looked to me like when they focused on getting the ball inside, they did well.   When the guards went iso, they did poorly.   I am grateful they did not feed Clingan every time down.

Fun to read UConn board complaining that Shaka outcoached Hurley and Marquette executed better down the stretch  :)

We frequently talk adjustments at halftime.  Usually about the defense. Rarely do we talk about how many points MU scores in the second half.

Yeah UConn has only lost road games to the three teams above them in conference. It is absolutely conceivable that they go through the rest of the BE with only one or two more.

The guys looked comfortable and confident down the stretch. Impressive against a top 10 team.

PGsHeroes32

Absolutely pleased to be wrong. Unreal this team.

Clingan was a load. Hurly was dumb and tried to go back to Sanogo to often.

Shaka just outcoached him. Stevie was a menace on D(as their board mentioned). Guards still win college games and ours were much better.

UConn is the real deal and going to be in the thick of things until the end of the season. We beat a damn good team and did not have the A game tonight.

From the UConn board:

"Stevie Mitchell was a gd menace on D tonight. We couldn't get a single offensive set moving." :)

Very good down the stretch and relatively calm.   Kam hit that open three with under 2 left was huge.    Very good contributions by all, and insightful coaching and substitutions.  Wow!  Huge win!

Yep..and Sean Jones had a similar impact.  Chase in his limited action also pushed the action out.  I believe the word out of the scrimmages against Mizzou and Loyola was:  "We couldn't get past your guards."  Our on ball D is one of the advantages Shaka knows we can press.

For such a young team, they play with incredible energy, toughness and spirit.  And their chemistry makes them incredibly fun to watch.

Let's keep it going!

It's so much fun to see our defensive tenacity.  We created a number of turnovers and a bunch of shot clock violations against a highly ranked team.

Agree Goose. They are very good and will be a load in Storrs.

Been reading for a while but they've pulled me into a post!  So fun to watch ... Stevie was a menace!  Grit and tenacity, feel like ....we're back officially!

WarriorFan

It's great to see the respect for the opponent in the above posts.  That's what makes the Big East great.  Great teams with great traditions, many of whom are well coached.  Oh, and there's also GT and DePaul.

I thought Skaka absolutely schooled Hurley once UCONN went up 11 in the first half.

1-4. 6 point games don't count.

I sit corrected. What an effen failure Shaka has been!

FWIW we play them in Hartford, not Storrs.

Uconn will continue to be a very tough team for anyone to play - our win tonight was special.   That is one helluva team to beat.

Agreed...was a great win...UCONN came out shooting well from 3 in the 1st half and then went ice cold in the 2nd.  I think they are a good team with room to grow.

I don't get too excited about dunks...Oso's alley-oop was one of the better ones I've seen at MU in a long time.

MU...they just fight like hell.  Shaka wins the halftime adjustments.

I yelled so much I have no voice...no apologies to those seated around me.

Awesome win - we controlled the tempo at end of the game, minimized our mistakes, cleaned the glass and made a couple big shots down the stretch. This is a special team.
