I love this team…especially what the frosh are becoming.
I was hoping BG hit that 2nd 3……would have immediately forced Hurley’s hand.
That was such a fun game.

I'm hoping we are 1 year away from being able to go 5 out against a team like that and Ben being able to hold his own at an acceptable rate on defense.

Love the spirit of this team and how The Coach Staff prepares the guys every game.

U Conn is an excellent team. I think the Huskies go deep in the tournament. We fought like hell to win this game and came out on top.

Good to hold serve on home court. If the fella's keep this up, a MU ticket is going to be hard to come by .

Glad I decided to come up at the last minute. Definitely worth it.
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

Agreed...was a great win...UCONN came out shooting well from 3 in the 1st half and then went ice cold in the 2nd.  I think they are a good team with room to grow.

I don't get too excited about dunks...Oso's alley-oop was one of the better ones I've seen at MU in a long time.

MU...they just fight like hell.  Shaka wins the halftime adjustments.

I yelled so much I have no voice...no apologies to those seated around me.

Same. And also second the apology

Was just going to post this.  Made a reference to a little rivalry among colleagues in the studio about this game as well.

According to the 3man weave guys on youtube today, Shaka was 15-5 at MU so far as a underdog against the spread.

They all 3 used that as a reason for why while they leaned Uconn in the game slightly they were staying away from the bet.

Well, its 16-5 now if they were correct.

I thought Stevie would guard Hawkins and OMax would guard Jackson. Love the call to put Stevie on Newton and OMax on Hawkins. Hawkins did jack all night and there's no way UConn could keep up with our offense without. Couple that with bullying Sanogo into 5 turnovers in 19 minutes....great coaching performance and execution by the team

Just hope that the Clingon uses his cloaking device and disappears. We had no answer for that giant. Captain Shakirk did a nice job tonight  but next time we play them, somebody must blast a photon torpedo up the guys butt to take him out. Or maybe he could be distracted by Mudds women. At any rate Captain Shakirk utilized the Korbonite menauver satisfactorily.

Haha. I was thinking during the game that Hurley may try a Twin Towers lineup.

JediWarrior mentioned in the SOTG thread the "bizarre but effective inbound play when they pressed after traditional methods failed in previous games" that Shaka called near the end of the game. The first time led to Oso being fouled (a flagrant?). Then, MU later set it up to run again, and I noticed the baseline ref telling the four non-Kolek players that they needed to start in-bounds. Anyone know the rules well enough to explain why it was ok (or how they got away with it) once, but not a second time?

Wasn't the first after a made basket, and the second after UConn airballed a three?  Different rules for different out of bounds sets; can't run the baseline, can't have other players out of bounds, etc.
I'll stick with my opinion on Gold.  He'll be in foul trouble within the first eight minutes.

Ah, that would explain it, if that's the case. Certainly on a dead-ball in-bound a player can't move his feet or he'd be called for traveling. I assume that would also include if he passed the ball to another out of bounds player who would then throw it in bounds (which is what I initially thought the plan would be).

But, that first time must've come after a whistle and so not in the true 'live ball' sense, as all five guys wouldn't have moved into the out of bounds area at the baseline just after a shot was made. I don't recall what happened just before that play started. (Still, even if it happened after a whistle, perhaps it is considered a different type of in-bounds play than, say, a dead ball after a foul or turnover.)

The football line of scrimmage formation for inbounding balls was pretty cool.

Bingo. And by placing all players out of bounds after a basket, any quick grab foul before an inbounds is an intentional.

1.  7'2.  Freshman.  Quicker than Edey.
 Please go pro.
2.  Sean Jones.  5'10. Freshman.  Quicker than most.  Good work, young man.
3.   Lego set defense for UConn.  So many blocks.  Vs Pillsbury defense for MU.  Love the turnovers.
4.  I really appreciate how Shaka's teams fight back.   I appreciate even more how he gets his freshmen to play without fear.
5.  In praise of Oso.  He can compete with Big East bigs.   In another year, Ben Gold will be fine.
6.  Second half adjustments.   We are coming to expect them
7.  With their length, that 1-3-1 could be lethal for UConn.
8.  The kind of game you want from two ranked teams in January.    A lot of fun
9.  Free throws in the last minute matta. From Oso and Stevie!
10.  MU fought.  MU won.  Joy.  Pure.  Unadulterated.

Nothing to disagree with, loved it!  Someone needs to drop a few bonus checks in the mail for the MUBB-PAC Social Teams and also a few bonus dollars to MU admin for pulling the trigger and hiring Shaka, never expected this quick of a turnaround BUT Love it!

Hurley is terrified of what Marquette could be moving forward.  He was trying to will Oso to the NBA last night with his words.  He wants no part of this team.
VIOLENCE!
