Keeyan is so athletic, but still needs to put on some size to play in the BE.

I liked that Shaka said that their goal weight for Keeyan is 255 lbs and that he's currently at 217. Not sure I can see 38lbs of muscle being added to that frame but would love to see it.

Tyler's shot looks so much better than it did last season...and he actually used a floater! It didn't go in, but I don't know that I've seen him attempt one before.

I do know, Newsie is right on you knowing ball.

There was on the other board.
Luke 6:45   ...A good man produces goodness from the good in his heart; an evil man produces evil out of his store of evil.   Each man speaks from his heart's abundance...

No.  Good teams win.  Great teams beat the spread.  Sad!

How are you able to get to the scrimmage, the open practice, etc if you live in Texas? Not only is it impressive but as a guy who lives outside Wisconsin I’m jealous. Also, thanks for the info

Kolek stood out to me for his shooting, but more importantly, he looked stronger and it better shape. He definitely looks more like big time BE player body wise, IMO. I was impressed with Oso's ball handling and passing. Chase Ross was better than expected and I love everything about Sean Jones.

I have been very high on Omax and it was hard to tell how big of a step forward he made last night. I still think he makes a big impact this season, but he did nothing special last night. In fairness, there were a million drills and hard to judge guys off of last night.

That being said, I am far more optimistic going into this season over last season. Aside from Gold, this team is stacked with athletes and lot of guys fighting for playing time. Plus, it seems like every guy has bought in their role and the system. I am a system guy and happen to love Shaka's approach in style of play.

Thanks for the reports, Goose and Wiz (and others). Excited about our team's potential heading into the season.

If Kolek and Oso have improved as much as those who have seen them this preseason say they have, I like our chances of being better than we were last season.

Do you expect Sean Jones to play 20+ mins?  Is he sort of a Peyton Siva speed wise but a better shooter?  If Kolek can score and shoot a decent percentage we could surprise people.

Siva is one of my favorite players over past couple of decades and that is a high bar. That said, it would not surprise me if Jones is around 20 minutes a game. I’m not sure how fast he is, but I cannot remember anyone being that fast on MU.

So who are the players who are going to be the "go to guys" to replace Lewis and Morsell?  Good teams have two, great teams have three.

It sounds like posters think we have one or two identified (Tyler, Kam). (Note: I am a COPER. I think we are like Shaka's second year at Texas where MU has less wins but we see more potential at the end).

For the record, I think Sean and Jop are in the mix for later this season.

Those are my picks.

Does that make Milwaukee the de facto Jonestown?

We have gone from Hiroshima to Jonestown on our Scoop Journey, a step up from when Pilarz wanted us to be like St. Louis.

What was Keeyan going during his redshirt? Training for a marathon?

Sean Jones will be starting PG by conference play - he can play with Kolek.

Sean Jones, Kolek, Kam, Omax, Oso is starting and closing lineup.

He was 190 when he got on campus. He put on a healthy 27 lbs.

Appreciate the take. Given the strong passing proclivity of both Kolek and S Jones, that's a lineup I like. It already seems that Sean can create some buckets when he needs to. If TKo is also hitting, that really opens up the PnR and leads to efficient scoring.

Ya...I loved Siva.  He was sort of a poor man's Muggsy with tremendous speed of the bounce.  Guys with jets that are immune to full-court presses, can control tempo and the entire game, are valuable assets Goose.  Some also cut off the head of the snake defensively.
