Wow.  Two clutch holes for Zalatoris.

The rain overnight softened the greens just enough to make them receptive.   Still fast, but a good iron stops.   The rough doesn't hurt if you are in the fairway.

Agreed Tower.  But I do think the rough could be more difficult.

Fitzpatrick looks very confident Herman.  He just hit a perfect tee shot on 5 and has an Eagle putt.
Fitz does seem very calm. Not making many mistakes. The PGA Championship experience is helping him.

Good grief, the rough is US Open deep.  Wait for tee shots on 12 and 13.

If Scheffler hits it in the rough on each of his final 9 holes, just like he did on #10, he will not win. Rough in spots is brutal.

Will Z is a stud with approach shots, but he has to hit it within three feet to make a putt.  Like Scheffler did, once he wins, the gates may open, but putting, ugh....

Both guys in the final group are flushing their irons right now.  This is fun.  And we have a new leader.

Zalatoris needs to win one of these before the USGA and R & A ban the armlock

Scheffler will remember #11.  Ouch.

Have we seen a single shot of McCarthy?

I was just thinking if that will be good enough?

This is such a classic New England style course , with double bogey lurking everywhere . Impressive how the leaders have held their games together so far .

What a huge swing there.   At a 108 yrd hole today.

Everybody but Z feeling the pressure.     Still a lot of golf to be played.

LOL!!

Can Scheffler get it together?

That lasted one swing.

But the rough is not difficult enough........ cost Scheffler a shot on 10 and probably Will on 12.

Will Z turning into Ben Crenshaw, he is going to have a few 5 to 6 footers down the stretch and we'll see how he does.

That was the heavy stuff and nowhere near the fairway.
