It's vitally important that Morikawa and Rory post -1 or better.

Complete meltdown from Morikawa!  I didn't see this coming at all.

The US Open is supposed to be carnage.

But +6 though 13 is a problem.  I actually think many of the top players had/are having mini-meltdowns.  Among the final few groups no one has really played great imo.

It isn't a problem.   He said coming in he couldn't hit his stock cut.   Couldn't find it.  He fought his way around for two rounds and then fought a two way miss so far.   Not a problem.   What is supposed to happen when you are fighting your swing at a US Open.

I understand that but I still disagree.  He has struggled with his short game as well today.

I don't view a world class golfer having a bad day as a problem.

I just mean it's a problem if he wants to win the tournament.  I'm not sure I could break 90 on this course.

Love the leaderboard for tomorrow . The ball striking talent of the leaders is incredible.

the US open is just wild.

Rahm takes soul possession of the first with 1 hole left. With the way he was playing and his overal talent it was setting him up great going into sunday.

1 hole later, double bogey and not even in a tie for the lead.

Tomorrow is gonna be nuts with all the lead changes. Shame Rory couldnt get anything going today. Gonna need to be really special tomorrow to have a shot.

Do you think someone could go low?  It looks like it will be less windy but pretty cool temps.

-1 is as far back as any potential winner can come from.

No one that shot low third round has won since Ernie in ‘97

Thomas just came from 7 back at the PGA.   Zalatoris just blew a big lead in a major and Fitzpatrick has not been here before.  (though he has won on this course before)    The low round for the week is 66.      I would say anyone at +1 or better has a chance.   But realistically,  I would assume the eventual winner is currently under par.

I think this setup is too hard for anyone that far back to win, though it would be fun to see someone make a charge like that

Thomas only came half way back.    The leaders did the rest and came back to him.    I'm not going to pick this hill to die on.    I think it is possible, but not likely.

I can't tell you why but my gut feeling is the winner will not come from the final two pairings.

MU82, try chipping Fitzpatrick style.
