This should be an epic day.

Wow...McCarthy posted a 68.  I assume the afternoon will be more difficult.  Zalatoris making an early move.

Zalatoris will be in great shape if he posts -3.  The wind looks like it's picking up a bit.

These guys are pretty good.  Morikawa has this unflappable quality to his game.

Scheffler looks confident

Rory hits a massive drive on 8 approach was not a the right level and rolled
Back about 50 yards . Made a nice recovery pitch them rammed the birdie putt by the hole….

Rory picked up a clutch par on 9 .Maybe that can get that hop in his step going again.

This LIV stuff is a real bummer.  There's a ton of great young players, the overall depth of the game is crazy.  It just sucks that there will be fewer fields with the top players.  Especially if more jump ship.

This is an incredible leaderboard.  Scheffler, Rahm, and Morikawa all within 2 shots of Zalatoris.  And Rory and Keegan only 3 back.  And this with a tough course and a leader who is not known as a consistent steady player.  This should be fun

Not worth worrying about, especially in the middle of the US Open.

Yes, very nice round and valiant effort.  But, long way to go today.

The back nine tomorrow might be an epic battle.  If Rory doesn't miss putts, Morikowa picks up a few, Rahm, Scheffler, and now Fitzpatrick.  Very good players, all within OWGR top 15.

Now number 9 in the OWGR, Sam Burns in the hunt.

I will mention that prior to tournament start I put $100 on Fitzpatrick at +2500
So, there’s hope for money win.
