Quote from: The Sultan on January 07, 2025, 08:32:48 PMLaFleur is a good offensive coach and good locker room guy. Freezes up at times in game. Not terrible. Not great.

I honestly think the defensive issues are in part coaching, but more about lack of talent. Honestly who is a A-level player on that side of the ball?

Cooper, Mckinney, and Jaire when he's locked in which is almost never these days.

That's it for the talent according to my eye test.

Cooper is a budding star.  Teams can get him out of position but if he disciplines himself, he can be a bona fide star.

McKinney is a plus player.  The stats are gaudy but he is also susceptible of being out of position.  Still, he's a type of player you can win with and should be the type of secondary help they look at this off-season.

Wyatt has a chance to be very good, too.

Also, Carrington Valentine has been very good.  They're a much better team with him on the field.  Teams largely avoid him when Jaire is out.  If you trust advanced stats, he's been really good
Maybe. But will Creighton and St. John's?
They look like the class of league right now. Have not seen Johnnies play, but Creighton looks awesome.

Of course, the Packers don't trust the advanced stats and thus have insisted on platooning him

I'm no football genius but Eric Stokes is terrible

Excited?  Optimistic?  Hopeful?  Pessimistic?  Resigned?

Cautiously optimistic, but don't think I'll take a loss as hard as past playoff losses.

forgetful

If they lose, a blowout is preferable than watching the defense play passive and lose late

Jockey

Never expected STs to screw the pooch.

Neat that you have rules to prevent leading with the helmet or around clear recovery when you will promptly ignore both of them

It was a perfect tackle. And it wasn't a clear recovery.

Other than that, great post.

Patented Packers pass rush.  How did Hurts make that throw?!?

Slaton helping Saquon up after the first down tackle says it all about this defense. It's the Playoffs boys.

2 special teams plays = 2 screwups.

Wonder who the new special teams coach will be

can't believe the eagles were able to get pressure on a 4 man rush. Didn't think it was possible.
