I will say though, at least they started with a good game plan - stop the run and don't let WRs get deep. It's frustrating watching guys wide open over the middle for 8-12 yards over and over, but it was the proper play.

Yeah, with a 3 TD lead, you want to eliminate the quick scores and make the Fins drive the field and chew up clock.  They did force a FG but had the offsides on the first TD drive for Miami.  Bit unlucky on that 2nd TD, too.  That could have been a pick.

After last night, I'm out on McDaniel.  Just a poor game plan against this defense.  They basically copied the Bears and unlike Detroit, Green Bay didn't have plumbers and dentists playing defense by the 4th Q

McDaniel was visibly shivering holding his call sheet. You can't just wear a hoodie out there.

If you are willing to give the Lions and 65 points, I might break my lifetime abstension from gambling.

GB defense has given an average of 15 PPG last 4. Lions will need to score a lot more than that.

Yes, they will.  I think the d-line is too depleted to get to Love or eliminate Jacob's.  IMO, Detroit's best chance is to win a shootout.

I have it scored similarly.

Packers 58 Lions 5

Any game ending in 4 would be cool though. Fill in the NFL Scorigami.

15.75 ppg over the last four games. One of Detroit's TDs was an INT return.

I'm aware.  Defense was also bailed out by special teams against the Bears, or else it would be 16.5 ppg. But 15 per game is incorrect, which was my point.

Averages are always skewed by one great or bad outing, especially a tiny sample size like you used.  SF playing a backup qb was very helpful.

Announcers are very complimentary of the Lions.  Tower has to be furious

Not furious. Watching calmly, as always.

Lions defense kicked the daylights out of the Packers o-line on that drive

Yeah. The pressure they were able to get there is concerning. If the Packers can't win on the O Line they don't have much chance at all.

They scored 17 points last time. Gave them an extra TD for homefield. First drives don't mean much when it comes to the rest of the game. If they march again here, I'm clearly going to be wrong.
