The Galapagos Islands
« on: April 06, 2022, 08:28:49 PM »
Has anyone here been there??  I would really like to dive there sometime in the next few years.  Anyway, I was just curious if there were any suggestions there and Ecuador.  Thx.

My sister did it. Very expensive but she still raves about how wonderful it was.

Despite what others might tell you, the blue-footed booby does NOT taste like chicken, they are much tastier.

Ya....it is costly.  Especially getting there.  Ty brother dgies.

The vitriol towards tortoises from other people here is not right and not in the least bit humorous.   We are destroying many our beloved species and your lack of compassion is troubling and disturbing.

But I posted that boobies are better! It would have been disparaging if I said chicken was better.

Former coworker of mine went and said it was incredible.  She also said that for the right donation to Ecuadorian politicians, you can get a special island dinner tour.

"Land, Air, and Sea"

Starter selection of Galapagos Tortoise 3 ways.  A main of Galapagos penguin breast with a chilled marine iguana and mangrove salad.  Then its finished with a sweet sugar roasted Darwin finch to be consumed whole

I mean, if you REALLY care about them, you should probable avoid the carbon footprint of getting there, and then disturbing them in their native environment.  Rent a documentary and see it all from the from the comfort of your home, meanwhile helping to save the beloved species.

You have people here making comments about eating manatees and lemurs,  among other endangered species, and yet you reprimand me taking an airplane somewhere.  Seems ridiculous to put it mildly.

Former coworker, who in no way is outdoorsie went, loved it, went back a second time. I can ask who he used if you would like. Been a few years since he last went(B.C.)

Whatever is easiest for you pbifllyer.  I appreciate it.  I guess I'm mostly trying to figure out how many days one should spend in Quito or perhaps other spots in Ecuador?  Thx again.

Oh, I take plenty of flights, but that's a sure way to create the seafood stew that seems to insult you so much!

Not to mention destroying the coral reefs with his scuba diving and his sunscreen.
Have some patience, FFS.

I have been reading that diving in The Galapagos can be very dangerous with the currents and cold water . They say it’s for advanced divers . I hope you take care if you actually go on this trip

I'm well aware, like most divers, of the fragility of coral reefs.

Ty Herman.  I'm fairly experienced and won't go when the waters are cool Aug-Dec.
