My wife and I started The Four Seasons on Netflix. The first four episodes have been enjoyable, and as a couple in our late 40s, it's something we can relate to.

Has anyone watched The Eternaut on Netflix? Apparently, it's an Argentinian post-apocalyptic/sci-fi series. My daughter's boyfriend recommended it...but I'm not sure I completely trust his recommendations. I think I'm probably going to check it out, but I was hoping I could get some confirmation (or a warning).

Watched it. I didn't think it was great in any sense, but did I finish the season even though I thought about bouncing multiple times. I'm sure this is quite helpful.

Quite. Thanks for sharing your strong opinions.

Just returned from a long vacation and finally got to watch TLOU finale. I haven't played the game (hadn't even heard of it until after I started watching S1), so I don't know how true it is and I don't want to know what happens next in the game.

I thought the best episode of the season was #6. The scene between Joel and Ellie at the end was incredible acting, just heart-wrenching to watch ... although I did take issue with one thing. Ellie asked Joel if he knew there would have been a cure, and he said yes. But that's not true. There COULD have been a cure, but there was nothing close to certainty, nor was any certainty expressed during S1. So yes, Joel ended any hope of a cure, but he didn't scotch a sure cure. He went with the sure thing - the life of  the girl who effectively had become his daughter.

That's a pretty minor nit when talking about what I consider the best show on television right now. I hated the ending to S2 ... but I also know that
I was supposed to hate it. And I wish there had been another episode or two - 7 episodes are just too few.

Dever is a gifted performer, so like others here, I am very curious to see where this goes.

I think your nit was actually an intentional choice. After the first game, gamers debated whether or not Joel made the right choice. A common argument on the pro-Joel side was "Well, there was no guarantee that the cure would work" with some insisting that the cure wouldn't have worked.

Joel saying yes to Ellie's question shows that this argument is irrelevant. Joel didn't choose to save Ellie because she was a sure thing and the cure was only a chance. In his mind, the cure was 100% going to work. Even "knowing" that, he still chose to save Ellie and would choose to save her every time.

I like that explanation. Thanks.

I'm loving this season of The Bear. Just finished episode 7, and it was awesome.

The 2nd half of last season was great. The first half was awful.

Started watching The Waterfront and Animal Kingdom. Similar pacing, similar ideas, not sure I am getting into either one but trying.

Can't wait to watch The Bear

The Shark Whisperer was a bit disappointing.  The 🦈 🦈 and Deep Blue should have been the main focus.  The Pangolin doc is significantly better as well as My Octopus Teacher.
