I watched Facing Nolan on Netflix. I was a big Nolan Ryan fan, so I really enjoyed it.
Never wrestle with a pig.  You both get dirty, and the pig likes it.

The Jason (and sometimes Travis) Kelce documentary on Amazon Prime was decent.  Certainly not a top documentary I've seen even this year, but there are some kind of cool behind the scenes things.

"The Saint of Second Chances", a documentary on the life and career of Mike Veeck (Bill's son) is outstanding. Interesting, fun and finally heartwarming - I recommend it to baseball and non baseball fans alike.

It was outstanding. I bet you were a Sox fan when Veeck owned the team.

Can't wait. Can't believe I'm going to spend money on a seat and popcorn, and can't wait.

Isn't it just her concert on screen?

The fiancé had big FOMO after having to work when she played in KC, so the solution was to get tickets to see her in...Milan in July 2024.

Yeah full disclosure I did actually go to the movie, wife is a big fan and I love going to movies so it was an easy decision. It is just the concert.

We saw her in KC, I was converted.

Both times. I became a Sox fan ate age 6 (1954). Minnie Minoso was my favorite player.

Dick (don't call me Richie) Allen was mine.

In Philly and Chicago.

When Allen came to Chicago he also became mine.

2 episodes in. Enjoying it.  Does a great job capturing the insane hype around the most overrated soccer player of all time.  No disrespect to Beckham, but he was never even the best English player at any given time (Shearer, Gerrard, and Rooney all topped him in his prime).  But he's probably one of the 3 most marketable athletes of all time.  Hence why it's a remarkable documentary.

Also would never in a million years expected Fisher Stevens to be the director/narrator.  But Ben Jabituya did a great job

The Fall of the House of Usher on Netflix is a ton of fun, latest spooky installment from Mike Flanagan who did Midnight Mass, and Haunting of Bly Manor.

Great watch if you are into that sort of thing around Halloween.

^ I loved the updated Masque of the Red Death in Episode 2 and how it weaves so much other Poe into the story.

I enjoyed Midnight Mass and will watch Usher in a month when I get home. (I like the big screen rather than watching on my laptop.)

Good call, and you will want more than laptop speakers for the audio too.

Seeing in the daily almanac that today is the anniversary of Ali's epic "rope-a-dope" fight with Foreman reminds me of one of the best sports movies ever: When We Were Kings. Highly recommended.

With Halloween around the corner, watched Knock at the Cabin, Smile, and A Quiet Place 2 this week. Of the three, Smile was the creepiest and best for jumps, IMO. Knock was pretty good but I have a bit higher expectations for Shyamalan. QP2 was fine but didn't have the novelty of the original. Also looking to finish up Wednesday tonight, which is fun but definitely targeted for a teen/twenty-something audience.

Got home from my 30 day pilgrimage last Friday and watched the show over the weekend.

I thought it started a bit slow - with each subsequent episode getting better. All-in-all, it was quite a commentary on money, power, trump, and the Sacklers.

Curse of Oak Island....

Bunch of middle aged and older guys excited about getting wood.
