It is a new day and we need to keep fanning the flames of the Pitino to MU rumors. Once we get some inertia behind them it becomes a reality .

4/5 of those had significantly smaller buyouts and coaches that performed significantly worse than Wojo. The 5th is Indiana who had a booster pay the buyout, is a large state football institution, and had a coach who at best was on par with Wojo. Coaching changes may end up being correct, I don't think the decision has been made yet, but if there was one they were going to be wrong about, it was Marquette.

I am struggling with what the bolded means.  Is it because of the contract extension?  Lining up donors?  Negotiating a different buy out payment schedule?

You're right.  All of the teams u listed
have canned their failing coaches
Add to the list BC and PSU ...

But the morons at MU ( Lovell and

I'm glad an unrealistic message board-fueled fantasy made your family dinner more enjoyable.

Our family had a great dinner last night.  We discussed Rick's achievements to include:

- His suspension of 5 games in 2017 for the escort sex scandal involving recruits
- The 123 UL games vacated from 2011-2015
- The 2013 UL National Championship being vacated by NCAA
- The 2012 Final Four appearance being vacated by NCAA
- The post season ban in 2015-2016
- His implication in a Federal bribery case which earned him being fired.

Looking forward to the big time gig he will get in next few weeks.

Don't depress Goose.  He needs Rick so he can stop being such an Eeyore.

Look, he isn't coming, and I'm not exactly jumping up and down desperate for him to come either, but I remember when these punishments came down. I remember doing some introspection and coming to the conclusion that they weren't real penalties. The money that UL earned during his success wasn't clawed out of their hands. The memories that UL fans formed watching his teams win aren't destroyed by the NCAA (who is respected by zero people not paid to respect them) says they were "vacated."

I'm not sure that I want MU to jump in bed with this kind of mercenary attitude, but let's at least be honest about what the punishment was: line items in a wikipedia article and message board fodder and barely anything more.

This.  The banner was taken out of the Yum! Center and is now hanging across the street for ALL to see, lol.  What punishment?

Forget Pitino. Tony Bennett apparently wants to come home.  We can easily make that happen.

I'm not on the Pitino bandwagon, but given the state of the program, I'd be thrilled to have a national championship vacated.

I'd ask if that means Wojo wasn't actually on a "flammable hot seat," but so many Scoopers have emerged to say sources tell them he's gone that it would be a silly question.

The problem is for him to be on the hot seat, his bosses need to recognize there's a problem. I get the sense they didn't realize they might have some issues until just this week. In order to warm Wojo's seat, it might be necessary to light a match under the seats of the people that control his fate.

Nah, it's way more cool to passive aggressively mock anyone who is hopeful of change or trying to find excitement or joy in super long shot possibilities for the program instead of sitting and focusing on a lame duck coach and white knuckling it through the rest of the spring hoping for no more key transfers while desperately sending "you up?!" texts to anyone in the transfer portal.

There are no Projos left but have seemingly been replaced with a faction of throwing shade at anyone who passionately wants Wojo gone by smugly talking about how they will support him as long as he is the coach and  ::) and anyone who doesn't pound the drum and laughing at anyone who expresses excitement over any rumors at some movement from the university.

Pitino isn't coming regardless, we know this, but leave the rest of the smugness about the program to ND
