Blue Jay No Way
« on: December 14, 2020, 10:10:35 PM »
1.   How would the narrative of MU basketball been different the last few years if Greg was healthy?
2.   Playing 7 against Creighton.   Bold move, Cotton.
3.   Free throws matta.
4.   DJ is the PG we have been waiting for.
5.   If you didn't like the defensive effort tonight, turn in your fan card.
6.   Creighton's ball movement in the first half was a clinic.    MU's defense changed it.
7.   Must have practiced the zone offense.
8.  Justin bounced back well from UCLA.
9.   You knew the Creighton run was coming.    They are too good, too experienced, and too at home for it to not tighten up.
10.   Only question was whether MU could overcome fouls and fatigue to hold on.
11.  Barely.   But MU just took down a top 10 team on the road.    That makes two of Wojo's best wins in the last 10 days.    Mmmm-hmmmm

What a win.

This team is raw as hell. Mostly exhibited in our TOs and free throw shooting. But god damn we are talented, athletic and can defend the sh it outta a team(when we aint called for BS fouls)

Wow this team is something else. Kudos Wojo. He’s got a squad. Refs tried to hack their way to a blue jays victory. DJ is the real deal...look what a real PG gets us. Dawson starting to come around even more. Umm, Greg? Please more. Less Symir.

Great win. DJ carton stud of the game.

Key to the game was not listening to the fake coaches on this board...Cain at the 4 etc
Theo, Garcia and Lewis.., having 2 in the game was clutch... having creighton adjust to MU instead of MU adjusting..,

Greg and dj were huge!

Good win!

I'm very upset about that last call where Mahoney elbowed Cains face and Cain got called for the foul.

The first half was everything I expected this game to be. The second was not. Elliott & Carton both with career highs. A road Big East win. Wojo is now 5-2 in Omaha. WTF happened in that second half?

The only real bad call down the stretch was the call on Greg. The refs were fine otherwise.

Thought we needed a 3rd perimeter player to step up a level. Never thought Greg would/could be that guy. Tonight he was. Kudos to him.

I have no idea Brew. My mind is still trying to process how we came back and took the lead in the second half.

They were trying to control the game too much. Probably 3-4 bad calls. Giving Greg a hell of a hard time on some calls.

Also how about that find From DJ to Theo for the slam?

Don't want to hear anything about how Creighton missed 11 FT's its not like Marquette shot lights out from the line either.

Those calls on the last 2 three attempts were plain awful.

That said love how we are flying around on defense.

on offense we no longer settle for 30 ft three's as the shot clock is going down. We have a post game and DJ slashing to the hoop along with ball movement

Props to Wojo.

I love this team. Love seeing the players swooping to the hoop, having fun, etc.

What a great game overall.

Garcia is slowly getting more aggressive and physical. By the end of the year he’ll be very good.

Can Creighton realize they’re not in the MO Valley anymore and get rid of the grade school rims? You can hear how loose they are every time the ball hits the rim.

After the first game or two, Carton looked like another guy. He's found himself, and if this continues, enjoy him while he's here.

Outstanding team win to weather the late surge and some...interesting...officiating down the stretch.

Lastly, the black kits are our best kits, and I will not be taking questions at this time.

Wojo needs to also get credit for adapting his offense.    No more 4 out.    Now running 3 out with high-low action.    Adjusting to that could have also contributed to some poor decision making early on.

If we stay healthy, the upper-classmen stay consistent and DJ, Dawson and Justin keep improving that's a nice recipe.

There were several moments in the 2nd half as the pace started to come back to earth where there was literally no answer for the size and physicality inside. Just wonderful to have that classic Big East toughness that's been lacking in recent years.

May have been different with a full crowd but doesn't take away the grit and resilience tonight. Keep rolling!
