It's unfortunate Rafa was banged up towards the end of his career and couldn't get his 15th French Open.  :(

But I think his 14 titles there  might be safe.  :)

MuggsyB

Zverev's serve has been ridiculous this tournament.  Normally you don't get that many free points on clay.

Quote from: MU82 on June 06, 2026, 05:31:19 PMThat was one boring-azz championship match.

Hopefully tomorrow's will be better.

Cobolli better wake up quickly.  Maybe he should read Scoop during the changeovers.  Not good.

MuggsyB

Flavio has elevated his game in the 2nd set.

MuggsyB

We have ourselves a match!

Cobolli!!

MuggsyB

Fk.

Cobolli with a loose game to cost him the 3rd set. You simply can't lose focus in these situations.

MuggsyB

OMG!!!  How did Cobolli miss that?

MuggsyB

Nevermind.

ANDIAMO!!!!

Cobolli forces a 5th set.

MuggsyB

Fk!!!

Oh....well.

All it took for Zverev to finally win a major was for every player with a pulse to either get eliminated early or to miss the tournament altogether.

But hey, he could only play the stiffs that were put in front of him, and he beat them all, so congrats to him.

I wish Zverev would suffer from extreme personal loathing  and end it all

I'm a little concerned with Alcaraz' wrist injury.  Obviously he's young, but Thiem had wrist issues.

🇫🇮 having a single professional tennis player in the Wimbledon Draw may have given Shelton a false sense of security???  That's a bad loss.  Really bad.  And on a surface where Shelton should be very formidable with his serve and power forehand.

Typical American athlete.  Softer than charmin.

He should read a little about Simo Hayha.  The man epitomized courage and elite badassery.

Entertaining day at Wimbledon.

Serena actually played decently, considering. She hit a wall in the third set - could barely move more than a few feet to either side, kept hitting it into the net, and lost some pop on her serve. Big props to the "Ginger Ninja," though - to stay mentally tough throughout, as well as hit some of the great shots she did.

I just looked it up: Serena won 7 majors, including 2 Wimbledon titles, before Maya Joint WAS BORN!!

And with a name like Joint, you know she's Unk's favorite player!

As for Shelton, that was pretty bad. A lot of loose shots and poor decisions. He's not a kid anymore.

Glad Serena lost.  She doesn't respect the troops or flag

Surprised Fonseca got rolled by someone #132 in the world.

MuggsyB

Tremendous win for Iva Jovic.  She's only 18 and the potential is there.  The young lady absolutely pummels her two-handed backhand.  If she can improve her serve, and add a little variety, we could see GS titles.
