His ceiling is way higher than Shelton's from what I've seen.  Playing 5 hours is tough for anyone...although it helps being 19. 

My 5-year-old grandson watched the fifth set with me and then declared, "That was the best tennis match I've ever seen in my whole life." 🤣😂🤣

Get the kid a racket.  It's important to learn how to bludgeon forehands and eviscerate serves. It's been more than 2 decades since we had a male gs winner.  Get him on the court and set up all sorts of targets.  Reward the young man for power shots.
