The $250 idea is dumb.

Looking at the top half of the draw and imagining one of those guys in the final is interesting. I actually think Tiafoe has a shot. Has to play well which he doesn't always do on clay, but he's the only seeded player left in his quarter

Counterpoint: it's Tiafoe

Very fair. But he's been playing significantly better this year than the past two.

As someone who loves Tiafoe and has a signed picture of him on the wall, I'd like nothing more than that.

But his point construction breaks down under pressure a lot of times and on clay that's not conducive to success vs the Europeans

First time major champ incoming, cool for whoever wins. Unless it's Zverev.

Fonseca?

I see it was a 5hr match.   He has a thunderous forehand from what I've seen and good pop on his serve.

Incredible forehand, and he had relatively few unforced errors with it considering the velocity with which he hit it.

I was most impressed by his poise. Playing in his first major and going against the greatest player ever, he stayed cool in the Paris heat. His serve ... he wasn't an ace machine (I think he finished with 12), but he delivered 3 howitzers in a row to put away the match.

He even showed some touch with drop shots and chips. He's 19. If he stays healthy, he could join Alcaraz and Sinner at the top.

Does he have the court coverage?

There are two additional teenagers still in the draw.  If he's cracking forehands for clean winners on clay vs Novak, that's not great news for everyone else.  Although it seems to me the clay is playing a bit faster this year.

He certainly could have a letdown next match. He's got a world of talent, though.

He's 19 and at least as good as Shelton - or at least he was that good in the one match I've ever seen him play!

His ceiling is way higher than Shelton's from what I've seen.  Playing 5 hours is tough for anyone...although it helps being 19.
