I wish Zverev's diabetes would be more debilitating

Coco has to get her forehand on track. Especially off Muchova's serve.

MuggsyB

Not a good start.  Crazy UFE's from Coco.  She has to get it together in a hurry to win this match.

MuggsyB

Ughhh.  Hopefully Coco reads my comments after dumping the 1st set.  She has like 15 unforced errors in 8 games.  :(

MuggsyB

Nerves are playing a huge role in tbis match.   It's time for Coco to take control and seize the final set.

BM1090

Coco is gonna regret that decision at 9-8 for awhile

MUBurrow

Yup, that was brutal.  The entire second half of the tiebreak was rough, but if she pounds that finish to the baseline, she's in the final.

Dammit!

MuggsyB

My goodness.  Coco missed a tremendous opportunity.  Just saw her match point.  Smh.

As one who really didn't care who won, I really enjoyed the Gauff-Muchova match - especially the very entertaining third set. Each player made errors, both physical and mental (especially Gauff's decision to go for a drop shot match point when she had half the court open), but it was closely-contested, outstanding sports theater nonetheless.

In the all-Czech final, I like Nuskova. She looks fresher and more powerful than Muchova, and she might have the better all-around game.

Noskova has been dominating with her serve.  It's not just that she great pop, her placement and consistency has been off the charts.  73% accuracy.

Meh. What most everyone figured would happen in the men's semis happened.

Fery was going against a real player this time. But Zverev will be going against a real player in the final.

Sinner looks special, and he'll beat Zverev for the 10th straight time.

I hate Zverev as much as the next person, but I don't think we need to diminish his accomplishments anymore. I know it's because of Carlos' injury, but he just moved above Carlos for number 2. And he's as close to Sinner at number 1 as he is to FAA in 4th.

He's awesome at tennis. And Fery dominated the guy who just made the French open final who was playing the best tennis of his life.

I'm sure Sinner will win, especially on grass, but to minimize Zverev is silly.

Yeah, you're right: He has been good at tennis for many years. Like many others who've been good at tennis in the last decade or two, he had the misfortune of being stuck first behind Djokovic, Nadal and Federer, and now behind Sinner and Alcaraz.

But yes, Carlos' injury is the only reason Zverev is No. 2. This year's tournament definitely misses Alcaraz.

I'm extremely concerned about Alcaraz.  His injury will probably keep him out for the USOpen.  I know he's young but wrists are no joke.  Hopefully he comes back ASAP at 100%  We're talking about a talent the sport has not seen.  More talented than Roger, Rafa, and Novak imo.

MuggsyB

It's cool to have an all 🇨🇿 Final.

MuggsyB

Noskova's serve is super impressive.  Best overall serve I've seen on the women's tour since Serena.  It's going to be really tough for Karolina if Linda continues to hit her spots.

MU82

Noskova looked ready to choke away the match, so it was impressive that she settled down and took control again. Her service hold to start the third set was huge.

Really worthy champion, with an awesome serve. Needs to move/anticipate a little better to be a dominant player on the tour, but her power and youth are big pluses.

As she becomes more experienced, she'll calm down in big moments.

She has a lot of game.  That serve is no joke and she can unload on her forehand.  She's from a tiny town in 🇨🇿.

Why the hatred for Zverev?
