The Djokovic-Rinderknecht match was very entertaining. The 4th set was filled with incredible shotmaking. Novak was just too good. Again.

Osaka is getting closer to her prior level.  I'd still give Sabalenka the edge but it should be a good one.

American men's tennis continues to be EMBARASSING

Been so much better lately. Shelton's loss hurt. Tien was so sick he had to go to the hospital after his loss. Paul is always a choker.

Really Shelton, Fritz, Tien, and renewed Tiafoe are the guys who can challenge. Paul and Nakashima are what they are. Tiafoe got a tough draw with Bublik tomorrow and Fritz in the R16, but I wouldn't be surprised if Fritz makes a run to the final. He seems to have his form back.

Osaka, Sinner, Djokovic, Gauff ... today's action was filled with great players doing what great players do.

Osaka and Sinner were especially impressive. Both looked like champions.

Also, Roddick is doing a nice job as an analyst. Along with Fernandez and McEnroe, that's a strong team.

Zverev could be a prob for him but grass should be his best surface.

The unknown Brit advancing to the quarterfinals was fun. Arthur Fery was so woozy after a tiebreaker decided the 5-set match that he referred to his opponent, Grigor Dimitrov, as "an absolute legend of the game."

I guess a 35-year-old who has never made a Grand Slam final and has been out of the top 10 since 2018 can be an "absolute legend," in the same way that, say, Jay Cutler can be an "absolute legend" ... but I digress.

Fery is ranked 114th, and he got into the tournament only as a wildcard. I enjoyed listening to the crowd react to his every shot, and watching him scramble all over the court to take points from the far more powerful (and legendary!) Dimitrov. He plays Flavio Cobolli next. Cobolli is the better player by far, but Fery has been the decided underdog in every match, so who knows? It's a cool story, one I wouldn't mind seeing continue.

I would choose a prime-time Wimbledon Final. (Sinner/Alcaraz) over any sporting event and I don't think it's close.  They've gone up from 10K to about 15K but the setting is still second to none.  The problem is it's literally impossible to get those tickets for less than a car.

A Gauff/Kostyuk Final would be good for women's tennis.  Marta has tremendous talent and megastardom written all over her.  Gauff has a super tough semi with Muchova but has been clutch all tournament.  Even when she has struggled at times.  Coco's most impressive attribute is her resiliency.  Her serve or forehand certainly can break down, but she never packs it in during difficult times.  I don't think anyone expected her to be here.  Now, she has a solid opportunity to win her 3rd gs. 

Fery is an incredible story for the men's side.  I thnk he was the 4th qualifier?  The entire world minus Germany will be rooting fir him to chop Zverev down.  All that said, this is definitely Djoker's best chance for #25.  Even after his marathon QF.  He has an extra day rest and should be ready for Sinner.
