Out of curiosity does the winner host the tournament if they're connected with a location or is it just coincidence that Ohio St Alumni won and it was going to be played in Columbus?
I think it was just a coincidence

Tomorrow's game is a no win situation.  If we lose, we suck.  If we win, we are against a cure for cancer.

They did? Was this a twitter thing or?

Team Hines said something in a couple interviews, and the announcers discussed it repeatedly before and during their game.  I haven't followed anything on Twitter.

Good use of teal, Chili, but undoubtedly the Golden Eagles could go a long way toward good will by donating 10% of their winnings to Sideline Cancer's causes.

I think chick is right. Diener doesn't seem like the guy to grind grind grind on the recruiting trail.

But, that's just like my opinion, man.

Not only does he not seem like the guy, I believe he has explicitly said that he does not like the recruiting aspect of coaching.

The guy has plenty of money and has three young kids. Why would someone like that take on a stressful, 100-hour per week job that he is not absolutely passionate about?
Have some patience, FFS.

Dude, what in gods name does that have to do with mixing up the fact that Derrick Wilson is not an alaskan born NBA player.

Also on tv its impossible to know that Derrick wears a damn t shirt with his jersey?????

Dude.
I believe he was living in Alaska and played high school ball in Alaska. It does not matter where he was originally from. The 2013-2014 Marquette Media Guide lists him being from Anchorage, Alaska.

The Sultan

He played four years at the school in New England.  He is "from Alaska" because that is where his parents were living while Derrick was at Marquette.  They were stationed in the Army there.  Which is also why he was born in Germany.

He played at The Hotchkiss School in Lakeville, CT.

I've mentioned here before, my Orthopedist saw me with a Marquette shirt on during a visit.  He said he knew Derrick as he was affiliated with The Hotchkiss School himself.  (I can't remember if his kids went there or if his medical group covered the athlete's there.)  He said Derrick was a great kid and was one of the best football players he ever saw, but Derrick loved playing basketball way more.

why isn't Andrew Rowsey playing?  sorry if discussed already but last i read he was playing really well in G-League

He remains a defensive liability. Their last opponent had a lot of length as well, so his size was working against him. He's gotten a little run in earlier rounds. He buried an open 3 and handled the ball at the 1 (obviously his role), but got blown by with some regularity at the point of attack on the defensive side of the court, which is probably why he hasn't gotten more PT.

warriors78

i'm not sure he is any more of a liability than Acker and he can stretch the floor and make deep 3s last night the offense was a bit stagnant at times so he could come in to give a spark and fee up the other guys to penetrate i think

TallTitan34

He's still trash talking at an elite level and I love every minute of it.

Acker is not a defensive liability.  He stops the ball, gets steals and makes it very hard to post him up.  That's the difference.

maybe but in this day and age offense and not defense wins championships

Yep there was a shot of a Red Scare player near the MU bench and Rowsey was standing and constantly chattering at him about something. Dude if nothing else has that Larry Bird gene thriving inside him

I guess you should call Joe Chapman sometime in the next 24 hours. I'm sure he would appreciate it.

Such a scoop meme.  Playing for the TBT championship tomorrow.   And a question arises why the worst defensive player I have seen at MU in 35 isn't playing more.

you obviously haven't watched enough MU basketball to claim that and/or don't know crap about basketball

#UnleashSean

Rowsey is decent, Little Mo is much better.

tower912

Rowsey is as good a pure shooter from 3 as I have seen in the 37 years I have been watching MU hoops.  Markus and Novak are the only ones close.

He is unequivocally the worst defender.

MU is playing for the TBT championship with AR playing limited minutes.   I am willing to give Joe the benefit of the doubt.

AR is a sharp shooter. Incredible no doubt. However, Mo Acker was a 38% career shooter from 3 at MU, 40+ as a senior. And has been playing pro ball, and all the savvy and development at the PG position that comes with it, for almost a decade. I'm gonna take the very good shooter from distance who is a more complete player over the great shooter, lesser player all day. Especially when you have 3-4 other guys on the team who are an absolute bucket from all over the floor

Related, LOVE how Buycks went from scoring beast last year to facilitator/do whatever we need with DJO joining and scoring a bunch. He was one of my underrated favs at MU, love how much he's developed and grown as a player

Chris Crawford is probably available though. He can share an oxygen tank with Travis after every three minute stint.
You're off Travis doesn't need oxygen, he is powered by beer, you haven't been paying attention to interviews.

He looks great, no doubt. But I still have Louisville in my head.
Funny how things stick, when I saw Mo I thought of GTown and the six 3's and the UConn game when I thought "What's Acker out there for?" before it was apparent that DJ broke his foot.

Disagree at most elite levels you can't win championships if you stink at D. This format is even less forgiving with a bad D, if you're having a cold shooting night you're gone. We've had a couple of quarters where D has kept us in the game or given us the lead

I think Acker had his 6-6 on threes in a blowout win over Providence.

It was Cubillan going 6-6 against Georgetown in a three point win.
