Looks like Jerry, Jr. finally found the real enemy.  The virus?  Nope.  The inconsistent messaging from the administration?  Not a chance.

The New York Times?  Ding! Ding! Ding!

We knew it wasn't going to be the pool boy.

This quote got me, because as any student of history knows, the real power in Nazi Germany was the media:
"The media, [Falwell] said in a radio interview with John Fredericks, who identified himself as a Trump campaign operative, "just want power, they're authoritarian, they're like nothing I've seen since, if you go back in history, to Nazi Germany. That's what they remind me of."

I mean, he goes full Godwin early, but completely incoherently.
If you think for one second that I am comparing the USA to China you have bumped your hard.

I remember in gentler times (last year's NCAA tournament) taking grief because I said I could never root for Liberty in the tourney.   Sigh.

I so want this lawsuit to go to discovery

Zero students on campus. But yeah that's great news. A good model for other schools to follow through f they can space-wise.

First, I hope Falwell's idiocy and ideological war doesn't result in any of the students or employees there getting sick, dying, having lifelong lung damage, etc.

Second, if any of the above does happen, I certainly would think a lawsuit against Falwell and/or the university might have merit. He is a hateful, hurtful man who willingly used college students as pawns.

So instead of a lawsuit here maybe an apology for the jump to conclusions?

For what?  He clearly said he didn't want someone to get sick and if they did a lawsuit would be in order.

Falwell is an idiot in general so that's not something to apologize for.

It is strange that weve heard nothing about liberty until now.

The narrative that it was dumb and dangerous.  Fortunately, it seems no major effects.  If liberty is telling the truth...

Oh, yeah.   Junior said more stupid stuff and Liberty is right back in the news.

An outstanding women's basketball player is leaving Liberty due to the racist culture promoted by the Falwells.

https://www.newsobserver.com/sports/high-school/preps-now-blog/article243485051.html

Asia Todd played her freshman season at Liberty University, located in Lynchburg, Va., but won't return to the school due to "the racial insensitivities shown within the leadership and culture."

The video, which lasts just over one minute, had more than 15,000 views. In a 24 hour span, Todd's reason for transferring has been the talk of college sports, with everyone from ESPN to USA Today posting stories about it. Todd continued to voice her reasons for entering the transfer portal, saying that the racial insensitivities from the school's leadership "did not align with my moral compass or personal conviction."

"The systemic issues, which is racism, within the leadership at Liberty," Todd told the News & Observer in an exclusive interview on Friday. "That led up to it (transferring)."

Todd's announcement comes two weeks after Liberty president Jerry Falwell Jr. tweeted an image of a mask with a picture of a person in blackface and another person in KKK robes on the mask.

"That was where I draw the line," Todd said. "Enough was enough."

Todd, who averaged 8.6 points per game for the Flames as a freshman, was an Atlantic Sun Conference All-Freshman Team honoree. In her video message, Todd stated that her transferring from Liberty had nothing to do with the basketball program, her coaches or teammates. Todd also told the News & Observer that she didn't have any issues on campus while at Liberty pertaining to race.

"This decision was simply bigger than basketball," Todd said.

Good for her. A young person thinking for herself, following her truth, and acting accordingly.

The NCAA absolutely should grant her a waiver to play immediately wherever she ends up.

The government shall pass no laws infringing on the freedom of speech.     So, Junior is legally free to say almost any stupid thing he wants.    But words do have consequences and people are equally free to judge when stupid things are said.

Much as Falwell is a d-bag, this looks like it was done by a kid playing with PhotoShop. But, I wouldn't put it past him hangin' with young girls.
