This has probably been discussed in some of the other threads so if this should be merged please do so and apologies for not continuing the discussion wherever it is. I haven't followed many threads in here.
But if someone who has not tested positive for coronavirus can be charged with a terrorist threat because he licked some deodorants, couldn't the president of a university that claims, “It’s just strange to me how many are overreacting. It makes you wonder if there is a political reason for that. Impeachment didn’t work and the Mueller report didn’t work and Article 25 didn’t work, and so maybe now this is their next attempt to get Trump,” and then brings back thousands of college students to campus face some sort of legal issues?
Shockingly, a dozen students are thought to have covid-19, and I'm sure a number of cases will come out in the future weeks. Every student who made it back to campus now has to self quarantine for two weeks.
Talk about dumb and dangerous...

First, I hope Falwell's idiocy and ideological war doesn't result in any of the students or employees there getting sick, dying, having lifelong lung damage, etc.
Second, if any of the above does happen, I certainly would think a lawsuit against Falwell and/or the university might have merit. He is a hateful, hurtful man who willingly used college students as pawns.

Ive always been shocked that kids play D-1 sports at Liberty. BYU recruits predominantly Mormon kids so it makes sense. But the vast majority of basketball and football players at Liberty don’t seem to be super conservative Baptists. And if you’re not, the rules and restrictions at that campus seem like hell

I mean, BYU certainly doesn’t, as evidenced by all the honor code violations that pop up.
But even if you get a free pass as a FB/BB players, you’re amongst a bunch of other students who chose that school knowing those regulations and likely having them align with their own. And Lynchburg is in the middle of nowhere, not like you’re partying at a diff school across town.
Just bizarre to me all around.

Asia Todd played her freshman season at Liberty University, located in Lynchburg, Va., but won’t return to the school due to “the racial insensitivities shown within the leadership and culture.”
The video, which lasts just over one minute, had more than 15,000 views. In a 24 hour span, Todd’s reason for transferring has been the talk of college sports, with everyone from ESPN to USA Today posting stories about it. Todd continued to voice her reasons for entering the transfer portal, saying that the racial insensitivities from the school’s leadership “did not align with my moral compass or personal conviction.”
“The systemic issues, which is racism, within the leadership at Liberty,” Todd told the News & Observer in an exclusive interview on Friday. “That led up to it (transferring).”
Todd’s announcement comes two weeks after Liberty president Jerry Falwell Jr. tweeted an image of a mask with a picture of a person in blackface and another person in KKK robes on the mask.
“That was where I draw the line,” Todd said. “Enough was enough.”
Todd, who averaged 8.6 points per game for the Flames as a freshman, was an Atlantic Sun Conference All-Freshman Team honoree. In her video message, Todd stated that her transferring from Liberty had nothing to do with the basketball program, her coaches or teammates. Todd also told the News & Observer that she didn’t have any issues on campus while at Liberty pertaining to race.
“This decision was simply bigger than basketball,” Todd said.
Good for her. A young person thinking for herself, following her truth, and acting accordingly.
The NCAA absolutely should grant her a waiver to play immediately wherever she ends up.

The government shall pass no laws infringing on the freedom of speech. So, Junior is legally free to say almost any stupid thing he wants. But words do have consequences and people are equally free to judge when stupid things are said.

One of the most amusing things about Falwell’s “misdeeds” are that they are perfectly legal, and while unconventional, not all that shocking. Plenty of swingers in the world, people who have a voyeur streak, etc... but when doing them makes you a completely hypocrite and fraud, you look like the biggest POS ever. It’s like being an obnoxious preachy vegan who shames anyone who eats meat, wears leather, or drinks milk...then getting filmed smashing a bacon cheeseburger from Shake Shack...repeatedly

Man that Fountainbleau definitely has a seedy side. I remember being at their bar one night and two clearly Orthodox Jewish men had four prostitutes between them. The outfit differences between the four of them definitely drew some attention.
