It's an article from the student paper.

I am sorry to say that for many of these kids, this is one of the first times that they have discovered that the world does not revolve around them.

If you need proof, take a gander at the Marquette Parents Facebook page.  Many of these folks were complaining that the dorms didn't open until the day before classes started because it didn't give their kids enough time to "settle in".  One parent  was absolutely livid that both elevators in Schroeder were down for a time on Sunday including a "WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS?" in his post.  How much crap did his kid bring back from home that this was a big deal?

Funny - those posts make it seem like the parents have the problem.

Whoa, whoa, whoa.  Dayton is synonymous with the Chevy Cavalier, not the Chevy Cavalier Convertible.

LOL, no kidding.  I mean for years MU (and Cheeks to be specific) had to program NMD when we were playing Charlotte on some Raycom affiliate.  It can be done.  It was done forever.  They'll get their 18,000 but I would guess the # people participating in NMD will be down this year.

This should also underscore how the new relationship with the Bucks is less than advantageous for MU.  We've gone from being the #2 tenant (and at worst #3) to getting the last pick of dates after Monster Truck, concerts, cirque du soliel etc is booked.  Lovell loves to build stuff, and though smart people have told him to stop I wonder if he just might keep pushing for an on campus arena.

Yup

We had to get KU and KA band satellite coordinates, find bars throughout the country that had the right systems and work with alumni office to make it all happen.  Technology has made it so much easier now, just odd.

It's all eBay had to offer at the moment. It has 26 followers, all within the 45402 zip code.

Might want to consider putting Glow Sr.'s laptop into timeout for a while.

Normally when we took the kids back to school, Glow stops the SUV, opens the hatch, and then burns rubber so that all the kids' stuff goes flying out the back.
Have some patience, FFS.

True enough, for not telling the kid to solve his/her own problems.  99% of the posts are about issues my parents would have yelled at me for calling long distance to whine instead of dealing with it myself or just sucking it up.

If I had called to complain that there was no bacon at the omelette station (which was the actual subject of a parent rant), they would have driven up from Tennessee and yanked me out of school.

National Marquette Day hits me on the first Sunday I will have had off in a month.  Will watch the game with many of the same people with whom I watched the Seton Hall game.  A recently retired alum is making it her project to get a functioning alumni group for this area.   So, no complaints.

So ur saying most out of towners drive home after games?  Pretty myopic

How is that myopic?  Are you saying everyone who goes to the games drinks too much and can't drive home?

Does Dayton have a "wrong side of the tracks" since they tore down The Ghetto awhile back?

I think the appropriate question is whether or not Dayton has a "right side of the tracks".

The right side of the tracks is where they burn couches; they burn tires on the other side.

Or maybe it's the other way around.

I think Danielle is acutely aware of this, but all things considered, her job is to put lipstick on the pig. A Sunday AM pep rally at 9AM after a Saturday of drinking or the need to attend mass is doubtful to be successful. While the game will be a sell-out, the fact there are still tickets shows the dissatisfaction as this game was always sold out well in advance. It is what it is as was well explained. You can’t have NMD with a game only on FS Wisconsin. My group made the Nova game our NMD.

there's no need to do that when there's basketball to be watched.

Eh, if you have a fast internet connection, and are willing to visit the dark areas of the internet, you can watch every game.  Maybe not from within the Great Firewall of China.
