Had Real Chili several times at Marquette. Never saw what the big deal was.

It's beans and a whole lot of grease. Flavor is there if and only if you had noodles and/or crackers. Otherwise, it's like eating sludge from a rendering plant.

Rocky, topper, take care of this immediately.

Brother dgies

Because of your status as a PTPer (Prime Time Poster) I'm going to assume this post was made in jest.

Real Chili wasn't bad certainly had its moments but marquette gyros was the best drunk food
Retire Terry Rand's jersey!

2 AM Chimi from Amigo's.

Angelo's Pizza, Suburpia, Real Chili and Marquette Gyros all are living proof the human body can survive almost any Culinary abuse and make it out of young adulthood.

You were dropped on your head.

Based on my assessment from freshman year Chili's at no 1 now:

1 Marquette Gyros (rip)
2 Angelos (rip)
3 Real Chili
4 Dog Hause
5 Open Pantry Barrito (rip)
6 Jimmy Johns
7 Taco Bell
8 McDonalds

Suburbia was gone by the time I came around campus but definitely agree on the other three!

And all were better than the SAGA dorm food.

Brother Tower:

We used to call it Sagariha. On that score, I agree with you (even though my brother and law used to manage a Saga operation in one of Marquette's dorms).

The modern day culinary abuse is a second helping on Saturday night, followed by a breakfast burrito at the Broken Yolk on Sunday morning, followed with a 5 hour car ride home in the middle of winter (can't put car windows down).

That's called intestinal fortitude.

Junior year, some of the guys on 9th floor tower would have a contest as to who would be 'first to water' after dinner at Cobeen.

Dr. Blackheart, Wales was actually one of the better ones.

My wife reminded me that Fatted Calf, on 16th just north of Walgreens, was really good too. It was gone by 1976 but it was incredible while it was there.

This might be heresy, but the Real Chili on E. Wells > W. Wells in my old age. Firstly, beer. Secondly, James makes a better bowl. Thirdly, Marquette is a bit tighter on the oyster cracker distribution.
