Consider the sanctions he put us under though.  He left Wojo in a deep hole that we're still trying to dig out of six years later.

I don't recall any sanctions Buzz put us under. I do recall talented players winning games.

I think next year losing Markus, Sacar, Ed & Jayce will be very interesting with a potential starting lineup of Koby, Elliot, Cain, Bailey & Theo with no experience off bench. Almost gives you the chills thinking about it.
Dawson, plz

When our frontcourt gives us virtually no production, yes, it's safe to say we missed the Hausers today.

Ridiculous that we could have that much experience and yet almost zero notable returning production
Retire Terry Rand's jersey!

They played about as well yesterday as they did down the stretch last year with the Hausers - so in a sense they did not miss them.   :-*

Shouldn't the question be which version of the Hausers?  The ones down the stretch last year, no we didn't miss that version.  The early and mid season version...yup.

So which one?

This is exactly the question and answer.  The answer is no, if they had stayed and started how they finished.  The answer is yes, if that was a temporary blip and a summer together would have smoothed over the situation.  So, I go no, since they were not willing to work on it/work it out long term.

As an aside, the new Markus, who doesn't look for his shot as often, seems intentional. I don't like it.  He is too good to not be a ball hog and put up shots.  I think he has to be "running down hill" all the time to get into his groove.  There were a few times where he stepped behind a screener, had a moment and space and I expected him to let it rip...  but he didn't as he sees to be playing more within a team strategy.  Me no like. Markus needs a letter from teammates to tell him to be a ball hog, he is too good.

I think a big part of the new Markus is that he has to work harder to get his shots. Other teams are being more physical with him and we do not many playmakers to open things up. Like the Hausers or not, but other teams knew they had to guard them or they would hit the open shot. In addition, new Markus or not, he did hoist up 21 shots yesterday.

Probably should let this season play out before we say that.

Voted no, as I don't think Joey would have been as much help as most might want.  Early in the season, turnovers and forced shots.  Sam?  He's very reliable and would have helped.  I like that you split this, but I think one more split down the middle.  Early Joey, more so, despite the TOs.  Late Joey, no way.  Early Sam, probably, and late same, probably.

I like this new team.  Koby is a huge asset.  Need someone else to be the "next man up."  I think it's going to be healthier Greg.  Also, Jamal seems to play his best with Greg on the floor.  Is that just me?

GrimmReaper33

Last year against UW the Hauser bros combined for 28 points and 15 rebounds on 10-19 shooting (5-8 from three).  Yes, we could have used them.

Newsflash- we will miss them all year long.  We can try to act like they aren't good players to make ourselves feel good but that's not really the case.  They didn't want to be here, so let's just move on.

Pakuni

We really missed Steve Novak yesterday.

What!?!  He looks for his own shot first, second and third.  Yesterday it was harder for him to get the shots because they threw multiple defenders at him.  He took them anyway.  He rarely passes the ball except when he can't get a shot.

Yesterday he took 21 shots in 35 minutes and had 2 assists.  That's a guy looking for his own shot.  If his shots go down from last year, it will only because we have another guard who can handle the ball so he doesn't have the ball all the time.

We really missed Sacar Animalities and Brendan Bailey yesterday.

We missed the Hausers a ton too when we got smoked by Indiana and Murray state last year.

They are not on the team anymore. Get over it.

Sacar yes, BB no. BB had almost no production last year so what is there to miss? He has picked up right where he left off. He looks awful so far.

Careful, that's a soon to be Marquette "all timer" you're talking about.

Funny. Maybe Chones would have helped, too.

We missed Dwyane Wade yesterday.  Damn, why did he have to leave early?

I now doubt if the current BB will match the BB of your era. I had high hopes for him and they are slowly fading away.

That BB had sharp elbows and was tough as nails - and he could really shoot it. This one is still TBD but the early returns  are mixed at best. Hope he bounces back.
