Im the guy from the student section. Never been on this forum before so i don't know if I'm using it right or not but I was sent this disturbing thread by a friend and made this account to respond.

I'm a 22 year old senior at Marquette and was visiting my sister at XU who's a freshman there. I'm definitely not a grad with some "jail bait".

Also yea I bartend at Caff's. Come visit and talk MUBB with me sometime! Except for you, burger. You can stay away.

Got you fam.

So let me get this straight. You think the kid is a graduate from MU hanging out with his "jail bate" (not sure you know what that means but we'll go with it). But you think they're showing an underage kid drinking. So did this kid entered college at 15 years old or...? If he's a grad he's at least 22 years old. The drinking age is 21...

The fact of the matter is if the kid is a junior or senior he's more than likely over 21 years old and legally drinking. And there were something like 47 kids from Marquette High and DSHA that went to Xavier in this freshman class. Xavier is a very popular school for Milwaukee area high school graduates. I have 2 younger brothers that go there and an older sister that went there. Chances are the kid has friends who went to Xavier and he's visiting them for the game.

But maybe he's a 19 year old college graduate who's macking on some Xavier randos...

Way to represent MU.  Heck of a game.  Sounded like a great atmosphere on TV.

Guy from X game, way to represent.  And bartending at Caff's has helped you with your character analysis.  You are ahead of the game.

Was at the X game as well, just not in the student section. He took a ton of chanting and yelling represented MU perfectly. He was the non-court MVP of the game. He pours a great beer at Caff's too.

Absolutely stick around Xgame.  Some of the folks here are knuckleheads but most aren't.  Kinda like Caf's.

BTW, I trust you and your sister had a great time and that the X kids were fantastic.  No doubt you took your share of good natured teasing.  To be expected.  Hopefully everyone said helluva game afterwards.

Love the comparison. According to that description I might stick around haha.

The XU students were super passionate. Awesome atmosphere. I got there about an hour before-hand to snag those seats and up until about 20 til the tip I was getting chirped really hard which was totally expected and hilarious. Then a security guard came up and told them no swearing or middle fingers for PR's sake.

That turned out to be the end of my baptism by fire and then they were total class acts the entire rest of the game. Post-game they were shaking my hand and buying me a drink or two!

2 fer 2 and X takes the square!  Nice story.  Sounds like you represented( no doubt)  our warriors well.  Plus your boss owes you for all the free pub💪 Now that everybody knows your name🤷🏼‍♂️

I think MU ought to send you out of town to more games, buy your tic in the middle of opposing student section, give ya a big bright MU shirt(your main squeeze as well) a few brewskis and make you our ambassador. You would occupy a place right next to freeway and the jumpin(jump around) suit guy.

Plus, it will really piss off the fuhr burger 🤣

Does anyone remember that scene from "Waiting" where the "quiet" new waiter goes off on everyone at the employee party and instantly becomes a "made man?"
Zenyatta has a lot....a lot... of ground to make up. She gets there from here she'd be a super horse......what's this.....Zenyatta hooked to the grandstand side....Zenyatta flying on the outside....this....is...un-belieeeeeevable!...looked impossible at the top of the stretch...

5th time I've watched MU at X, my daughter is a '17  Xavier nursing grad and we headed to Cincy together.  Plenty of Milwaukee kids (MUHS, DSHA & Pius) going to school down there.  The Cintas is great place to watch a game and Xavier was a great place for her to go to school. That said, the post game beer tasted great at Dana's with the win in hand!

Good stuff, X, and welcome to ScoopLand, where we all agree on pretty much everything.

My favorite road games were the 2 times I saw us beat Wisconsin at Madison. I also went to a win at ND when I was a sophomore, but I had a little (translation: a lot) too much to drink and don't remember it very well!

Loved that show when it was on TV and was so upset when it got cancelled.  I bought the DVD box set as soon as it came out, and shared it with my then-teenage kids.  They liked it so much they made copies of it for their friends, and even a couple of their high school teachers, and this was before any of the actors became really famous.

Whatever happened to the actor who played Cardellini's little brother?

That's the guy NorthernDancer was talking about in "Waiting".   He was on the show "Bones" , and was in the movie "Game Night".

So, icebreaker question for everyone:  Which "Freaks and Geeks" character were you most like in high school?  I have to admit, for me it was Millie.

I agree with you on this one, chick. I loved this show and was bummed when they cancelled it. Up there with Party Down as a cast that was ridiculously stacked and cancelled too soon (although more due to some of the cast getting better roles like Parks and Rec and Glee).

I still love throwing out lines from the dad like "You know who used to cut class? Jimi Hendrix. You know what happened to him? He died!"

He wasn't just in Game Night, he directed it. That Vacation remake no one liked too. He also has a bunch or writing credits for pretty big movies, like Spideman: Homecoming, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, and those Horrible Bosses movies. He's doing ok for himself.

Gottlieb on Jeff Goodman's podcast - Good N Plenty advocating ND to leave ACC for Big East. Argument is that while ACC is a better conference, ND gets washed out by the top end and always will.  Also argues that they are not even getting the best academic kids- UVA, Duke, Throws in Northwestern and then adds MU as competing with UND for the kind of kids we get - "the Hauser boys" (and Goodman chimes in with -"they are white" and skilled).  Really an awkward conversation.

Aside from the idiotic comment on race, I agree ND would be better off with the BEast if they are going to stay independent in foosball.
