Georgetown is shooting 63.0% eFG%. They've been better once this season. #mubb defense can lower that in the second half even without Markus and Ed. Hoyas 40, #mubb 37.
Thanks for ruining summer, Canada.

Thought they hung in there well. It’ll be tough to win but hopefully somebody can step up in the 2nd.

One of my friends is sitting directly behind Markus.

I texted him and asked him why he isn't massaging Markus's back for him.
Have some patience, FFS.

Are we sure MH is done???

Cant they tank him up w some fluids or something for the spasms?

Amen. He looked fine in the shoot around. Get him loosened up and out there.  That said GU is not that great. No Marcus, no Ed and their home flooor. I can’t believe we are within three.

Yes...ONLY if they win however.

Wrong. As wrong as anyone could possibly be.

This is kinda fun. And probably exactly what this team needed. Should be a fun rest of this game!

Losing their best player is always good for an athletic team. And fun.

Defense fell apart at the end of the half. That end of the floor will decide this game

Exactly. An offensive drop off with MH out is understandable but not a defensive drop off. Way too many open 3s and lanes to the basket. JC doesn’t look like he can contribute offensively but he needs to be a lockdown defender in the second half

Why hasn’t Markus been in the locker room receiving treatment the whole first half.

Well hello Captain obvious...of course they aren't the same team...but STILL better than Georgetown. They aren't ranked #15 for nothing. Come people, have a little confidence in this team.

GU has been wide open for their 3s - need to play much better D.

GU ended half on a 13-4 run.

What treatments would you suggest for isolated back spasms?

Our guys mostly stepped up well in the first half. Sam looks comfortable being the leader on the floor right now, and the other starters are doing their part so far. Brendan and Matt have made nice contributions off the bench. If we can get Jamal and Joe C going, we'll be just fine.

Maybe this was the plan all along...Markus is fine, but they are lulling Georgetown into a false sense of confidence as Ewing completely reworks his gameplan for a Marquette team without Howard at halftime, then we come out and Markus drops 60 in the second half on the unsuspecting Hoyas.

Just tell Theo that the rim called him a craphead, and then let him dunk it every time down the court to get even.

Hopefully they can give him another go.  Not really a high risk move to try him again, playin on a rolled ankle etc would be a lot more concerning

Didnt james use to come back into games from severe spasms???

I will say it right now...I do NOT want to see/hear ANY complaining on this board IF MU loses this game without Markus..NO QUESTION..we are not the same team.

No we are not the same team; but it would be nice to see if we can play better without Markus than with him. This game will force the other guys to step up rather than just waiting for MH to take over the game. I hope Wojo sits Howard and lets the other guys know they can win without our stop scorer. I can't imagine a better confidence builder than that. Remember we are also play ing without Morrow as well.

I think this board would fall into an Internet black hole if not for teal. Good lord...

Dare I say that they might need more Bailey for defense? He was big on the boards, beating screens, and even added a few buckets.
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.
