Seton Hall.... bwahahahahahaha
« on: February 07, 2018, 08:14:40 PM »
1.   Seton Hall doesn't run high pick and roll.
2.  I harp on my 5th graders all of the time that you need to make your lay ups.    Heldt missing two and Sacar one during a crucial time of the game when MU could have extended the lead.
3.   But rumors of Heldt's banishment are greatly exaggerated.
4.   The flu sucks.   No points off of the bench tonight.
5.  Hauser's post up, back down, turnaround jumper has not been there the last few games.
6.  I wonder what the fan was saying that got him ejected?
7.  Having 4 guys shooting >85% from the line sure helps down the stretch of a tight game.
8.   Delgado in the post, getting doubled, leaves Markus hugging Sanogo down low and then trying to recover out to the 3 point line.   A variation of the problem with the high pick and roll.    Only hurt MU a little tonight.
9.  Only one way MU could have lost this game tonight down the stretch.   One senior on the team.   Who can't physically  block a shot.   And yet somehow........
10.   Remember when MU was looking forward to playing St. John's?
11.  All 5 starters in double figures.
12.   Gutsiest performance of the year.     Well done.      Looking forward to the silence of the haters tonight.
13.  MU's FT defense was vastly improved tonight.

Huge win.

Still a long way to go without that Providence win

Was always worried about at SJU. Thought that was the third toughest game we had left(before Providence)
Lazar picking up where the BIG 3 left off....

Outside of 2 missed bunnies, Heldt was huge.  His defense forced Delgado to the bench with 6 minutes to go.

Clutch FTs sealed the win.

Made up for one of the turds at home with one we don't win on paper.  Suddenly Saturday looks like trouble.  9 on 6 is an advantage if everyone is healthy.  Heldt held his own on Delgado again, got to like that effort.  Wish we'd foul hard when we foul instead of the touches that don't even impede the shot attempt.

Sacar's offensive game seems to have really improved in the last few games. Maybe it's just a confidence thing, and it's been there all along, but I'm sure happy we're seeing it come out now.

No Theo. No Cain or Elliott in second half, believe neither played one minute.  Guys stayed out of foul trouble in second and finally had a full half to play together.

SH foul shooting, well....

Gut check free throws by Heldt after Rowsey brain dead play.

Next game against a team that beat #4 and #1 after going 0-11 in BE, with no Marcus Lovett. They blew their load and its been all Ponds, he has been just crazy good.  Stop him and they win.

Interesting stat according to the box score.  We had zero steals.  Hard to believe we can win with zero steals but we did.

So..... about all of those people who want Elliott to start and Matt to be banished....... yeah.       Freshmen are erratic.   Goose eggs tonight.   Heldt was a man, maybe THE man tonight.    Will anybody learn?    Nah.

Heldt and anims missed layups were huge but both made up for it with big plays down the stretch. Heldt 2 offensive rebounds plus free throws and anim a nice reverse layup under a minute.

Well said.  Thought Wojo coached a really good game tonight.  One of his best efforts yet at MU.

I didn't see what happened over the weekend because I was skiing in Tahoe, but this win makes me happy.  Undefeated vs SHU in 2018!!

Actually mentioned during the broadcast that Stan had the scout for Seton Hall.   Which poses the question, who had the scouts in the ugly games?

Great win, but the dumb fouls at end of game...rowsey had a few fouls on three pointers that were unbelievable. He’s not blocking anyone’s shot.

Great summary, tower. Big win, very "gutsy," as you said.

One thing, though: Heldt had averaged less than 10 minutes the previous half-dozen games, so they weren't rumors - he really had been all but banished.

If Theo's healthy, who knows how much Heldt even would have played tonight. I've not been a huge Matt fan, but I just wrote a tome stating his case for SOTG. Really came through huge.
